We were visiting the area and checking the menus of all the cute restaurants downtown. The veggie pizza caught our eye and we were delighted with the searing, the decor, the nice view of the sidewalk, and the excellent beer and wine selections. The veggie pizza comes with tempeh bacon and Skye burger meat, both vegan. It comes with mozzarella cheese but, and here is the cool part for us, there is a vegan cheese option. THANK YOU! vegan cheese can be a little glue like, yuck, but this was just the right proportion for a perfect balance of cheese, the aforementioned vegan meat, excellent zesty sauce, and a few veggies. The crust is perfect for thin crust lovers. We shared a glass of Stonewall Norton red wine, $9. It was fantastic, Rich, plummy, and smoky. The Norton grape is an American/French hybrid which grows well locally. I would get it again. The service was also attentive, great job

We found this restaurant when we moved to Franklin, NC from Oklahoma City, and let me tell you that it is one of our favorites. I was raised in the south and I missed good deep fried Catfish, well not no more. On Friday nights this is where to find me!!!

We visit the NC/GA mountains several times a year and ran across this charming, small restaurant a few years back. We were hooked on our first visit and it's just as good several visits later. We've had breakfast, lunch, and dinner and all were freshly prepared, cooked perfectly to order, and served by a genuinely friendly and engaging staff. This last visit I tried the Rueben and it was once of the best I've ever had (and I've had many as my scale will attest to). Probably the highlight of our last visit was the peanut butter pie -- handmade by one of the proprietors. Words just can't do it justice, so I've attached a picture of it (and the reuben too).
We were looking for a light dinner after having a large lunch, and Subway is almost always a safe bet. We were the only people in this one while we were there at dinner, and the food was exactly what you expect from them. Good sandwich and a good value.

The Dillard House offers a Family Style dinning experience!
Our son is in school nearby so weâve eaten and stayed at the Dillard House 3x since August. Iâm giving it a 3 overall (rounded average of total experience). Restaurant - After 3 visits we will not eat here again. The per person price is quite expensive for what you get. The food is just not good. Its bland, itâs served in tiny bowls with the appearance of having been picked over. The vegetables are overcooked. Every green vegetable, with exception of the green beans, is served as some type of cheese laden casserole. This limited my husbandâs options because has milk and cheese allergies. The meats served (ribs, fried chicken, meatloaf or country fried steak and ham) were also overcooked or didnât look good enough to eat.Hotel - We stayed in a âHighlandsâ room 2x. This is a very nice, clean, spacious room. It has a large bathroom with tub and separate shower. There is also a wet bar with sink, a mini fridge and microwave. The room is equipped with Wi-fi and cable tv.Chalet 9 - For our 3rd visit we stayed in this chalet because the hotel was sold out. There also no other hotels available. We had no idea what to expect because we were told it was small with a small bathroom and shower. While we were pleasantly surprised with the size and cleanliness it needs some updatingof furnishings, carpet and appliances. The bathroom is small but manageable. The shower is the smallest ever and completely wet up the bathroom floor unless turned towards the right wall. There is quite a large closet but no hanging bar for clothes. The living area is also a good size and accommodates a kitchenette. However the stove didnât work. The carpet was stained throughout with what looked like bleach. The upstairs loft stairs are steep but the area is cute and had a clean, full size bed. And my husband (5â11) could standup in it. There was no Wi-fi in this chalet but there is cable. Also know that ATT signal is non-existent in this area. We were told the chalet had a grill and deck rocking chairs but it did not. With updates this could be a nice accommodation.I have chalet photos only, sorry no others.

While Valley Cafe & Catering is not new to Dillard, we are now in a new, larger location. In our new location we offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, 7 days a week. We have a spacious main dining room with great mountain views and a private dining room that
This place is wonderful! Reasonable prices for great food and a good wine and beer selection too. The country fried steaks we both had were excellent but the desserts were to die for! Check out their website for photos of the cakes and pies they make here, homemade! Will be back soon!
