My wife and I were expecting the five-star dining experience at Mohawk. We arrived at 6:00P and stayed until 7:00P. The restaurant was vacant when we came in and we remained the only customers. There wasn't even any bar business. We had passed by two other restaurants that night and they had ample customers. The waitress gave rather indifferent service and food quality was average. My fettuccini Alfredo with grilled chicken was good, but not al dente. My wife's burger was "just another burger". If this were #3 rated restaurant in Crivitz we wouldn't want to eat in #4 thru #31! Fortunately we live here so we know there are MANY excellent restaurants in the area. We shan't number Mohawk among them, despite prior glowing reviews. Maybe it's just extremely variable. As our memories dim, we may return

I cannot recommend this restaurant. The food on the dinner buffet was very basic, cold, dry, stale, and tasteless. Nothing on the buffet was good. Dirty dishes sat on tables as the high school waitress talked to a friend at the counter. Annoying flies, old cheap silverware and plastic glasses, and very dated tables and chairs. A restaurant with a tropical island theme seems very out of place in an up north restaurant. We told the waitress that the food was horrible and no money was taken off of our bill.
If you want a good small dinner style breakfast with great tasting coffee, stop in here. Service is fast and friendly. They just recently added Fish Fry Fridays to their hours. Lots of choices in the area for a fish fry and I would recommend them. The owners have had it now for about a year and are doing a great job running it. Very friendly. It has become popular for breakfast every day of the week. They also do extra events there once in awhile in the evening. Like craft classes.

Hilltop is typical of an "Up North" Wisconsin Supper Club. Friday night fish, Prime Rib on Saturdays, etc. Ordering is a little confusing when going there for the first time. You get menus from the bartender and when you're ready to order you notify them and they send the hostess over to take your order. They seat you in the dining area when your food is nearly ready. We were there on Saturday night, labor day weekend. Was very busy. Bar was crowded and noisy. The old fashions were very good. Took about an hour to get seated in the dining room. Dining room was nice, quiet, and has a great view. While I'm not a big prime rib fan I did order it and it was as good as any prime rib I've ever had. Salad bar had a very good selection. Look forward to going back here when in the area.

What a great place! We have been driving past this for a few years and finally was able to stop for dinner. It was fantastic! Best old fashioneds and dinner was excellent! Will definitely have to try their prime rib soon. Extremely reasonable prices and very friendly staff. Worth the stop for sure!

It has been a very long time since I have been at the Gateway. Probably because we live so far away and when we head north we take a different route. We happened to stop on a Saturday evening on our way home (around 9 p.m.). The place was very clean and music was not too loud where you couldn't converse. We could tell the server was unsure who was taking our table as some were heading home. I ordered the walleye sandwich with the vidalia onion dip. My husband had the foot long hotdog. Both sandwiches were good...but I never got my dip and my husband had no ketchup on the table for his hotdog. We flagged a different server to get these two items. We did; however, get sets of silverware two different times despite there already being sets on the table. The server was having a bad night. She was in tears behind the counter. It obviously was an off night for service.

Always a great selection - the prime rib was so delicious and a perfect medium rare. There was ham, smoked pork tenderloin, their amazing broasted chicken and butterfly shrimp- along with veggie, potatoes, stuffing, salad bar and desserts Itâs always a nice way to spend Easter Sunday Thank you very much! We are glad you enjoyed your time with us! Happy Easter!

We visit Reneâs every time we are at the cabin. Every time we visit we are welcomed with friendly faces! Start off at the bar with a few. Donât pass on and old fashioned here because they are by far the best around! The great hostess is well informed on all parts of the menu and is always willing to help if having trouble with a selection. We have never been disappointed in any of the food here. Among our group we ordered everything from fish to ribs to steak and always enjoy it all. Grilled salmon was great! Ribeye cooked to perfection! As stated earlier weâve been here many times before and never disappointed. Definitely will return! It has turned into one of our must stops every time we are up here!

The diner has state of the art kitchen equipment, stainless steel appliances and a 50's era counter top and barstools. There is a timeless feel of a 1950's soda fountain, complete with the music from the 40âs, 50âs, and 60âs. The menu includes everything
...itâs the perfect excuse to use when all you really want is the ice cream, but you know you âshouldâ have something protein. We stopped after a visit to Daveâs Falls. My husband ordered a sandwich that is being taken off the menu, and said it was great. My daughter in law had french toast, also great. Our son had a reuben and kettle chips that he devoured along with two pieces of eclair torte. Great. I had the miniature burger with cheese and the works...It. Was. Awesome. And, it allowed me to have rocky road in a hand made cone. Owners Cindy and Jerry went out of their way to make us welcome. We will return, for more than just the ice cream!
