I just love a Waffle House, and they are SO much better in a southern small town. The waitresses call you "honey", and always offer sweet tea. I love their pecan waffles - huge portions and come hot enough to melt the butter and warm the syrup. Good portions and friendly people.

They truly are a home town, burger place. If you've ever heard the expression the messier, the better the burger....it applies here. Get it just the way you want, with a hot dog, fries, onion rings. Or if you want get a grilled chicken salad they are fabulous too. Be specific they also have a grilled chicken salad sandwich which is chicken salad on grilled bread...or grilled chicken on a bun. Either way it's all yummy. The steak and cheese with peppers and onions is also awesome. Breakfast is beyond yummy as well "they have liver mush"! And if you're especially lucky you'll get to order a homemade doughnut .....trust me you'll thank me later. They are only open during the week and morning till right after lunch so be prepared for the schedule!

OMG...walked in and over half the tables had not been bussed... They have been open for less than 2 weeks. The food was awesome! The pamesian garlic bread is to die for. The chicken Alfredo was fresh cooked, the Alfredo sauce was awesome! The lasagna was fresh baked to order. The salads were very crisp and the ranch dressing is homemade. The best part is the homemade garlic parmesan bread! OMG... delicious! Don't expect fast food as everything is cooked to order.I hope they are successful as this is needed in the Conover/Newton area.

Had a great dinner and experience here. The food was absolutely wonderful and has been each and every time. Yes, after a great first experience I went back multiple times. Service is generally ok. Not always the fastest but they have always been nice.

Some friends of ours from Conover took us here after church. Their daughter, Abby, is one of the original employees when it opened 3 yrs ago. Itâs a 50âs themed burger joint, similar to Johnny Rockets or Cheeburger Cheeburger except Hwy 55 is 10 times better!! Great atmosphere that is only surpassed by the great food they serve!! Next time weâre in Conover, we will go back!! Great food, great atmosphere & good prices!

Girls day out, browsing & shopping in local shops, we stumbled across this little gem in Newton.Great pub atmosphere, excellent service and the food was typical pub fare. Do check out the beer!

and that is not hyperbole. It is small, it is personable, Sharon is there and the locals give as good as they take. Especially Charlie. The food is wonderfully basic, cheap and plentiful. Breakfast is the thing, for $5.00 you get coffee, toast or biscuit (make sure you tell them dry if you donât want butter), grits (make sure you tell them dry if you donât want butter) or hash browns, choice of meat, and choice of eggs. Come on, what is not to love? Plus you get to listen to all the locals giving each other all the love that opening a mouth can give. If you want a great sandwich order the chuckwagon; light mayo, light mustard, tomato, lettuce and onion. Wow, what a sandwich! The best in town and the region. OK, the hamburger and hot dog are good as well but so what! If you can get a seat then you are in for a treat! Ha, just made that up...

Our neighbor kept on hearing about Sweet Taters from one of their friend. Naturally, our neighbor told us. After trying it, we are looking for reasons to go back and try everything. It is a hidden gem and if you use a gps to find it, you will end up asking people for directions. We entered 10TH Street NW at the shopping center. Taters is not there. It is on the other end of 10Th Street NW on the corner of route 16. There is one entrance to the parking and that is on 10Th Street NW. The restaurant is next to the Holiday Inn Express. Once you enter the restaurant you are in for a pleasant greeting and an awsomley decorated restaurant. The food is great and the pricing is reasonable. The chairs at the tables and the booths are padded. The menu changes daily. Menu listings are marked GF when gluten free. The hours are Lunch Monday--Friday 11:00 AM --2:30 PM and Dinner Monday--Saturday 4:30 PM--8:00 PM. We were at lunch and 3 of us had the All American Burger. One had the Reuben Dog.I had the Mexican Corn Salad and liked it so much I asked the waitress what was in it. She knew exactly what was in it and even told us what brand of spices to use. This is more than I usually write, but this place really impressed me.

Having lived near the ocean and now living inland is quite a challenge when eating fresh seafood. The Harbor Inn Seafood restaurant is pretty good though. Whatever I have eaten here I have liked. They do a very good job and serve lots of people efficiently. I'm not a big fried food kind of person but it's big in the south so there is a lot of fried items on the menu. They do offer healthier options, too. Their baked potatoes are very good. I would definitely recommend this family restaurant to anyone.
