Reviews on American food in Commerce Township, Michigan, United States. Commerce Township, officially the Charter Township of Commerce, is a charter township of Oakland County, and suburb of Detroit, located in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 40,186 at the 2010 census. The terrain is rolling hills with large expanses of flat farmland and suburban development. The Huron River runs mostly north-south through the township. Commerce was formerly a weekend and summer resort for Detroiters because of the area's small inland lakes and peaceful seclusion, but due to recent development the cottages are now all permanent homes. There has been a sharp increase in population in the last few years, mostly on or near the several lakes and golf courses. Much of Proud Lake State Recreation Area is within the township. The northern terminus of M-5 is in Commerce. The busy highway would have continued north to Interstate 75, but because of the area's high property value and the many lakes that dot the landscape such a project would have been far too costly.

We had 6 for a birthday and even though it wasn't very busy on a Sunday for lunch, we had to wait almost 15 minutes for a table, they seemed to not have enough wait staff that particular day and there was a party of about 14 a head of us. BBQ full slab was very good, brisket and pulled pork was good but a little underwhelming. Sides were all excellent including asparagus, mac and cheese and corn bread. Kids had pancakes, french toast, sausage and ham and they thought it was excellent.

Might be highly rated as best around, but the BBQ was some of the most tasteless I have ever had. While prepared well, totally lacked in seasoning.I had the tasting plate, brisket, pulled pork and sausage - the sausage was the best thing on the plate - sides smoked mac and cheese - no smoke, collard greens were decent, but not great. Place was packed inside and out - I don't get the attraction?

Maurice Salad and service were excellent. Only disappointment was split charge. We should have been told before. In addition to the large salad, we ordered a quart of soup and order of tabbouleh to go. $35.00 order for two should not have incurred a sharing charge. The pita bread was warm but under done.

The Lakes Bar & Grille is the perfect destination for lunch and dinner, whether a casual lunch, an intimate dinner for two or a large group celebration.
Small place, but great things come in small packages. Did lunch and the burger was terrific. My wife had the Patty Melt which was a special...excellent. Have also been there for dinner recently, the ribs, perch and fish and chips were loved by our foursome. Good pour from the bartender, nice beer and wine list. Will go back again and again.Thank you for you comments and five star rating. The Lakes Bar & Grille strives to bring the best of food, drinks and service to each and every great customer like you.......thank you.

Voted "2011 Top 10 Best New Restaurants of Detroit" by Hour Magazine readers "Handsomely presented and well-executed dishes." - Sylvia Rector, Detroit Free Press Toasted Oakâs cozy dining room offers an exceptional restaurant experience highlighting local
At this price point I would expect more. Some dishes were seasoned almost but not quite well and there were elements on the plate that detracted from the dish. The pork belly was yummy but the accompaniments did not highlight it. The fish of the day (Halibut) was the other way around: baby squash and zucchini were the best things on the plate- fish was slightly over (dry) and sauce was a bit overly salty. Still, this was the best restaurant of the ones we visited in the Novi area so it got 4 circles. Dear LLLLLNNNNN,We aim to impress, so I'm sorry that your experience was just okay. Your comments, which highlight our successes and areas for improvement, are welcomed as they foster change for the better. First visit after hearing good things - had coastal club and corned beef reuben. Both were excellent. I had a cinnamon roll as well which was very good. Waitress was great and atmosphere very nice.

Benstein Grille is a moderately priced 160-seat restaurant offering American cuisine-style food and service. Lamb chops, steaks, fresh seafood, pastas and salads along with classic "two-fisted" sandwiches are all on the menu. Specialty selections include
Was here on a Sunday with friends. Very nice restaurant with a nice brunch menu. Excellent waitstaff, I think Andrea. There were 5 of us and everyone enjoyed their selection. I got the Wolverine Reuben which was great. I could only eat half, and took the other half home for another lunch. The seasoned fries are to die for. Reasonably priced. Limited parking area. Thanks for the visit and awesome review Maryann! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed brunch and the rest of the experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Cheers

We met my sister and her husband here as they live on a local lake. Some lake food is pretty crummy, but we were pleased with this place. The service was fast. There was some special that you get a pizza with another entree so both my sister and her husband did that and took home two pizzas. I can't eat pizza with all that cheese, but I did have the chicken parmesan roll and it was good. With being allergic to lactose, I often feel like I'm not getting the best food a restaurant has to offer, but this was good (albeit, a little iffy when it comes to the cheese and dressing). But,I liked it. We had a few local brews and went on to play cards for the afternoon. Good meet up place. Easy to get to and park and fast, casual food in the playground area of northwest Detroit area.

Tried to get in on Saturday. They no longer take reservations. Wait for four people...hour and a half to hour and forty-five minutes and there were empty tables.Very disappointed, especially when we drove forty-five minutes to get there. Too bad, I used to like going to this restaurant.

Went here for a business lunch; the restaurant is very large, so it shouldn't be a problem to find a space to sit. I ordered a buffalo chicken salad; it was a large portion, and tasty. Our server was efficient, and was there for what we needed. Overall, a good lunch option for the area.
