You can always tell a "locals" favorite diner by looking at the groups of friends who hang out at the tables. . This place is no exception. Weekdays are my favorite for the fried chicken and vegetable plates they feature Mon thru Fri They are open on weekends but do not have the vegetable choices on the weekendsREMEMBER.....You don't go here for the decor....you go here to eat.

People find this restaurant that you cannot see from the street...Nice find...We were with a group of people traveling on a trip. Wild Magnolia had plenty of seating for our party. Our service was very good; the owner came out to check on us. It was hamburger special day, but many people tried a variety of things. They have a bar and plenty of parking. Nice lunch!
Ten Pin Cafe is a great find in small town Virginia. It is in Sportlanes Bowling Center. MANY different beers from all around the world. The best cheeseburger in town, and ahhhh, those fresh cut fries. True blue American cuisine at its best! Great weekend
Whenever we go bowling I don't even bother to eat before because I love the food here! It's not as expensive as your typical bowling alley food either. The fries are great and my favorite is the chicken tenders. However, don't bother with the wings. They are very small & the buffalo wasn't very spicy. But they have great beer prices too! I'm not a big fan of the crowd that hangs out there so I wouldn't eat in there. But if you don't mind it, there's usually music, sometimes live.

Just ate at the Sirloin House with three colleagues. They were happy with their meals, mine was a disaster. The filet mignon came wrapped in bacon which I donât eat. The menu did not say it came wrapped in bacon. Although the waitress offered me something else she had a bad attitude. My next entree came burnt. We asked for separate bills. She put them on 2 checks and the person upfront had a hard time separating them. Bad experience all around. They need some serious cultural competency training! Not everyone eats pork. Donât go there!
The service here is friendly, and the seafood not bad, enjoyed the fried oysters. Actually the food is above average for the area, but I must admit it was distracting to smell a stench while ordering and eating. I think it has more to do with the age of the building than sanitation, but all in all warants just an average rating.
We are glad to have an ice cream shop on this end of the county. They serve Homestead Creamery, which is really good. They play Christian music, which is good. The man that owns it is really nice.

Probably best gravy biscuit available and good hot coffee. This location could use a good cleaning however. Ive stopped here several times and the floor is sticky from spills. Service is okay.

My family of six arrived at the Dutch Inn early in the morning (1 am and 4 am and planned on checking out the very next day at or around noon. The only good thing about this visit was the staff and the food in the restaurant. I was a little disappointed that the buffet was only served on week ends. However, we had our choice of entrees and what we all selected was wonderful. The reason that I give this such high points is that there is a variety of breakfast selections included in the price of the room. It was excellent ! Oh yes, do not forget the service, excellent. What I noted last year and saw evidence of again this Thursday was that they continue to work as a team , always keeping the needs of the customer first. Wonderful staff !! Great job !

In town for the NASCAR race at Martinsville. I like to find local places to eat and I am particularly fond of BBQ, so I couldn't resist Pigs R Us (aka The Checkered Pig).I ordered the two meat platter with pork and brisket. I was skeptical about brisket, because usually East coast BBQ places are not real good with brisket.Well this place is!! Some of the BEST brisket I've had since I was in Kansas City. The platter came with French Fries and really good hush puppies. A wide variety of sides are available. I chose Baked Beans and macaroni salad. The macaroni salad was a bit nondescript for me. Probably wouldn't order it again. The baked beans were good, but they tasted a lot like canned baked beans. However, the brisket and pork more than made up for the sides. It was EXCELLENT!!Kelli was my server and she did a great job explaining the four sauces on the table.Give it a try. EXCELLENT BBQ
