Fresh ingredients and fast service. Everybody was friendly and they offered good suggestions. Great place to stop for a light dinner on a rainy evening.

I would rate Newfound Lodge somewhere between average and very good, but TripAdvisor doesn't give that option. My daughter and I ate here last weekend for breakfast, even though she wanted McDonald's; I insisted. They had scrambled eggs, sausage patties, bacon, grits, biscuits, gravy, french toast, tater tots, cheesy potatoes, a variety of fruit, and I think the salad bar was open, but I wouldn't swear to it. Our server was friendly and efficient, in spite of a fairly busy morning. On Thursdays they have a buffet featuring traditional local/Cherokee food like bean bread, which I have had in the past.If you are in Cherokee and want to avoid the fast food joints and the casino, this is a decent place to stop in, especially for breakfast. You can order off the menu, but I never tried it. And by the way, my 15 year old was glad we didn't do the fast food thing after eating here, so that says something. So, as always, enjoy your visit to Cherokee, and, Happy Motoring!

The most friendly people will take your order for amazing coffee! My friends had tried their Iced Chai before and insisted we go back with them before we left town. I tried theirs and it was truly amazing and I ordered a dark chocolate frappe and it had the perfect ratio of coffee vs chocolate.

Just the place for a small, non-flavorful, so-called sandwich at an inflated price. If anyone from the Subway chain is reading this, be assured that you do not have to be concerned about meaningful competition from E-of-S, they are not even close to being in the same league in terms of quality, taste or portion size. We were especially amused when ordering their full-size "'Reuben" sandwich, and being asked if that was to be on White or Wheat - guess nobody got the word about a proper Reuben being on Rye bread. What they did produce was slightly larger than a typical 6-inch sub, and was on moderately stale bread, with an extremely modest portion of meat, some kind of sauce, about a tablespoon of sauerkraut, and absolutely no discernable Swiss cheese. Best thing about it was finishing, and knowing that there was none left to try and choke down.As a few recent reviews have stated ...... Don't Bother - That is good advice.

Tried Granny's Buffet this trip for dinner and was very satisfied with our meal. They had fried chicken (best), ham (2nd), trout (whole) and carved beef (looked a little dry so we didn't try it). Also, a variety of home-cooked veggies. It was all good and a better buffet than most.Only thing I thought it was missing was more dessert options than just chocolate pudding. A pie and cake option would have been nice, especially for the $$.I had "fried apples" for my dessert. "They were the BEST fried apples I have ever eaten!"Also, felt that the ice tea should have come with the buffet. It does at most.

Eating at this casino was recommended as we travelled from Gatlinburg to Asheville. We stopped at lunchtime and had hoped to have breakfast. We were pleased when we could order an omelet. But then we were disappointed when we were told they did not have any hash browns. Wouldnât you think if you serve omelets all day, you would plan to have hash browns?

Arrived mid-morning on a Tuesday and the place was packed and a waiting list to get a table. The wait was only 15-minutes or so, not bad. Ordered the Western Omelette, and it was not like any I had previously. The ham was in crumbles (not sure if even ham) and the peppers and onions over cook/sauteed, almost like mush. Maybe we just order the wrong item for our first visit. The place sure was busy!

Excellent cafe! I wish I had one near me. If you are in the area, well worth a stop. Best food in the Cherokee area. They serve coffee/espresso, beer, sandwiches, soups, salads, desserts, smoothies, etc. Great food, staff and decor. It's a bit different than your usual boring cafes - their menu offers items that are well thought out and more unique.
