Find out what American restaurants to try in Carlsbad. The internationally known Carlsbad Caverns are the biggest tourist draw in this city on the Pecos River. But before or after you've experienced the magnificent caves, you can round out your weekend with some wonderful above-ground sights and activities. If the thought of caves conjures up visions of narrow spaces and dark, cold clamminess, the comfortable year-round 56-degree climate, wide-open spaces and magical underworld of naturally created sculptures will amaze and enthrall you. In the summer, you get to see another natural wonder - some one million bats taking to the skies from the cave entrance every evening at sundown. Hardier cave explorers can take a side trip to the wilder Slaughter Cave for a down and dirty ranger-led tour. Come out from under to the zoo at Living Desert State Park for a glimpse of Chihuahuan Desert wildlife - everything from mountain lions, buffalo, bears and coyotes to reptiles, prairie dogs and roadrunners. Head over to the Lake Carlsbad Recreation Area for river swimming and waterskiing or to Guadalupe Mountains National Park for hiking trails with diverse terrain and incredible views.

Stopped by on the way to visit Carlsbad Caverns. We arrived about 30 minutes before the lunch rush. The food was very good. The service was great. I had an extra tea I could not carry on the first trip to our table. I went back to the order counter and the drink was gone. I had not realized the person that took our order followed me and delivered the drink to our table. Thanks again for the extra help to improve our lunch experience.

Great chain in my own personal opinion, a wide selection of meals are available and as always well prepared. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Excellent food as always and good portions.

The sign on the building is almost invisible being placed way inside on the property, but my navigation took me to Milton's Brewing without any issues. The Sunday night I visited happened to be special with open live music in the patio with regular customers bringing food for everyone to share!. The place is very casual with the bar tenders chit-chatting with several customers. The beers I had in the sampler were excellent fro their style.

Nice setting. Service always good. Buffets and salad bar among the best in town. Evenings the fare has something for everyone. The Stevens is one of the few hotels in this oil town to honor the government room rate. They have meeting rooms for lunch gatherings or, well, meetings.Food pricing is about right. Newly remodeled interior. Adjoining bar is convenient if spending the night.

This is the cleanest diner we have ever been to! Recommended by friends, we chose to have dinner here after a day at the Carlsbad Caverns. The food was wonderfully comfortable with something for everyone and the prices were very affordable. Service was excellent and we would definitely return if we ever pass through Carlsbad, NM again!

Busy diner that closes at 2pm and is popular with reason! They home make their green chilli sauce which is fantastic, nice and spicy. Portions are large and service is excellent-highly recommended.

We invite you to visit Danny's Place, a barbecue pit house with good ol' cooking for lunch or dinner. As a local favorite, Danny's Place takes pride in serving traditional barbecue in a friendly and attentive manner. Try your favorites or branch out: we o
It was very rewarding be able to eat a good, fresh meal in a clean, family-owned restaurant. It is easy to split a meal here. Get the two or three meat specials, with two sides and divide it with your spouse. The ribs were very good and there is NO gluten in the barbecue sauce. Did I mention the waitresses were really nice?

Several colleagues recommended the Bull for a steak and a good beer selection and they were spot on. The service was really good as well and staff were super friendly. Loved the green chili grits and the steak was great.

We hope you enjoy our true southern style bar-b-que, prepared the old fashioned way since 1954. Our meat is slow cooked in a bar-b-que pit, using local pecan wood. We prepare our sauce, salads and beans fresh daily. Our homemade sourdough cobbler is a lit
Decor: One large, piney room, with lots of trophy heads and other, western-themed wall art. Wooden tables. Menu: Includes catfish, chicken choices, and possible to get BBQ turkey, but of course the emphasis is on the pig here.Service: Very warm and attentive.Quality: At our table we enjoyed the chop mix entree, and the St. Louis ribs. Two sides - in our case, smoked mac 'n cheese & coleslaw - are included. Ribs (4) were smoked well, but we would've appreciated more sauce and "fall off the bone" quality. Chop mix was OK; sides, too. Toasted Hawaiian rolls were also served. Best item of our meal was the stuffed avocado appetizer, as the smoky nature of the grilled avocado was truly unique, and nicely accompanied by the chop mix. Decent portions.Value: Good.

Italian dishes dominate the menu, but there is a nice selection of other dishes to choose from as well. I thoroughly enjoyed ond of the "local favs"-chicken bolloco. The others in my party had chicken florentine, halibut and filet mignon. We were offered free wine tastings at the bar while we waited for our table . The wines were from the family Balzano Vineyard and were quite good. (We enjoyed a bottle of the chardonnay with our dinner.) Prices were reasonable and service was friendly and efficient. Restaurant seemed full of locals on a Monday evening. We made a reservation and still had to wait.
