I didn't feel a four-star performance, but I also felt it "above average." So we'll go with 4*. Service was ok, I have no real gripes, but a few things were off. For the prices (which were above average, you're paying for the view), the service was a bit slow and disinterested. Not rude, mind you, just slow and disinterested. I did enjoy being able to eat outside but under cover. However, I'm not sure I get "the view" we paid for. Youâre looking at a sandbar where people kayak to, etc., and there's boats coming and going, a strong smell of diesel permeates, etc. Those are the negatives. The positives: Prices are in-line with similar restaurants in the area. The outdoor seating is nice. And the food was quite good. I was there with my wife and teenage girls. We tried each othersâ entrees. The girls had the 4 cheese pizza. Excellent wood fired pizza, a quality mozzarella for the slightly elevated pallet. My wife had the Chicken Sumpinâ, with the broccoli salad. She referred to the sandwich (I didnât try it) as âok,â but the broccoli salad was excellent. I had the St. Joe with the kettle chips. Chips were decent. The sandwich was an Italian treat, a generous portion of meat and a unique vinaigrette. Wife and I were somewhat upset we failed to try the Black Sheep BPT, which is apparently the best sandwich on the menu.Again, overall Iâd call it above average for the spend. If in Beaufort, Iâd stop there again.

Stopped in for breakfast since we had never been before. It was very crowded but we attributed that to the event in town. Self seating which is ok but it took forever for waitstaff to get to us. There was no rhyme or reason to who had charge of what table. People that came in after us were taken care of first. We almost left at that point. On the plus side, when we did get the food it was hot. Parking is an issue. Food average. Service average.

Located across the street from the Maritime Museum on the Historic Beaufort Waterfront. We offer floating dock access - come by land or sea! Reservations are recommended for large parties, generally 12 or more people.
Went for lunch. Nice spot overlooking water. We both ordered the crab cake sandwich. Spouse had eaten the crab sliders before so we were really looking forward to our meal. The fries were hot and crispy. The crab sandwich was boring. It tasted like a crab cake with no crab meat. I am not sure it even had crab meat in it. Maybe just egg and bread crumbs. Really bad tasting. The best part of the meal was the Pain Killer drink. This was the best one on the Beaufort waterfront. We like to eat at Finz but will never order the crab again.

We stopped in on a Tuesday and received a friendly greeting and were immediately seated. Great decor and a step back in time. My wife had the shrimp burger which was full of lightly breaded and fried shrimp that were tasty, tender, and sweet. The coleslaw was very good. I had the fish and chips and there were 3 pieces of lightly fried and tasty flounder with fresh and hot fries. We split a brownie sundae and it was excellent. Friendly and engaged service and a great experience.

I have been going to Beaufort regularly for 15 years now and of all the good, decent, and not so much, restaurants in this lovely town, I always enjoy Stillwater. The food is consistently top-notch, the wine list is impressive, the service is great and the rum bar in the back always has an excellent bartender for a serious cocktail. Make time for lunch or dinner!

First time here in about a year and first time in many years for lunch. We arrived before they opened the doors so we were seated as soon as they opened. Food was very good and plentiful - enough to take home and have a second meal. It did take quite a while for our food to arrive and we weren't given any explanation. This is a well established restaurant with a great reputation and excellent food. It does get very busy but it's worth it.
