We'd never been to Beacon, NY before but it's just about 45-minutes from us in Westchester and a wee bit more from friends of ours who live a little further north. When I looked for a restaurant to have brunch at, I found a number of choices in Beacon and we opted to make a reservation at the Vault. The reservation was promptly honored. It's a nice looking restaurant in what was apparently once a bank from another era.The service was prompt and accommodating and the menu had a good number of very appealing dishes. We shared a number of them from what they call the "tapas' part of the menu though there isn't, other than that title, any more than a tiny hint of a Spanish angle to speak of to the menu. But, that's not a negative unless you specifically fancy a Spanish lunch or dinner. That's because the number of dishes and the variety of choices should more than satisfy anyone at your table there. As I mentioned we shared a variety of them from the tapas menu and my wife and I had eggs benedict. Our friends had other plates and I and the others all remarked about how really fresh and delicious everything brought to the table was. It is evident that the preparation of the food includes the finest ingredients and good deal of cooking talent. We were all very pleased with this restaurant in every respect and I don't hesitate to give it a strong recommendation.

Many menu items and daily specials. All were very good. We went on a Sunday- the place was crowded and very noisy. Service was good. Prices were ok. Would recommend this restaurant. Avoid getting a table by the bar.

Set on the Historic Hudson River, Blu Pointe is a Newburgh Waterfront Restaurant that offers something for everyone. The temperature controlled walk-in wine room holds over 3,000 new and old world wines and serves as a dramatic backdrop to our cozy lounge
When you consider all the elements that must coalesce for a meal to be great then this was a great eating experience. Firsts of all the location is superb, right on the shores of the Hudson River. Then the décor is light, elegant and very contemporary. The service was professional and spot-on; I would say it matched my European standards. And then, of course, was the food. The menu is very enticing but they have a $20 prix fix with a wonderful selection of options that really caught my attention. Had the grilled oysters, which were still sweet and moist and with a good amount of bacon, and then I had the fish of the day which was salmon. I just came back from Chile and, let me tell you, this fish was excellent in all respects. Without doubt this was a highlight meal ion the Hudson Valley area.

So, my wife and I were taking a walk around Beacon and decided to have lunch. We walked a bit, passed some eateries but went in to have lunch here at The Pandorica. As it turns out, this casual restaurant has a Dr. Who and the Daleks theme, and I have to admit, we live under a rock and we've never even seen that TV show in any of its iterations. Turns out though, that it's theme isn't overwhelming or annoying in any way and as far as we were concerned,..it was a restaurant that looked comfortable and that's what we wanted. The menu offered a good number of choices and the food was nicely prepared and very fresh. The staff was friendly and accommodating and we both enjoyed our lunch here.

We had just come from a strenuous 3 hour hike on Storm King Mtn and drove into Beacon in need of some refreshment. Max's was the first place we stumbled on from where we parked. Midafternoon on a Monday, there were a few customers at the bar and one large party. They had a large TV showing some tennis and inexpensive beers. We also did order some hummus and pita. Prices were low, service was very slow with only one bartender/waitperson on staff.

We went to Homespun Foods for a late afternoon meal after visiting Dia:Beacon. I had an excellent Greek salad (although it could have used more Feta cheese) and my husband had an enormous tuna salad sandwich, also excellent. Nice portion sizes and reasonable prices. It was a beautiful day, so we enjoyed eating in the courtyard behind the cafe.

We met my brother and my sister in law for dinner in Beacon. After reading the menu on line they thought this restaurant was interesting. When you read the menu you really think it might be. We ordered two appetizers, not really made for sharing. We had the kreplach and the crab meat appetizers, neither was extraordinary. I had the pork sausage patties made in a Thai style, with lettuce wraps. It was served in a bowl, I didn't know why. It didn't really taste of Thai spice and it was just okay.. My wife had the steak and it was over done, she told the waitress but she wasn't too enthusiastic about doing anything about it. My brother and his wife had the salmon, they said it was okay. The prices are relatively high for the area and the food is just average. I think sometimes your expectations are too high for the restaurant. I don't think we will be back.

Great spot for lunch; we sat outside 3 of the 4 times we dined here over the last two months. Popovers are delicious; lobster bisque was excellent; double burger was huge; spinach ravioli was very good; we really enjoyed the crab cakes; chocolate pecan pie was a great way to end the meal. We had brunch 3 times; the belinis should be included with the brunch price.Service was excellent each time. Servers were always accommodated each request with a smile.Great place to have lunch while viewing the spectacular view of the Hudson River.
