Wölffer Kitchen Amagansett is our second restaurant in the Hamptons, co-owned by Marc and Joey Wölffer. The restaurant offers a casual, family-friendly dining experience in the heart of Amagansett Square. Wölffer Estate winemaker and partner Roman Roth al
Speed dating only with food. It is so clear that the staff at Wolffer Kitchen is instructed to get you in and out in a little over an hour. I can only imagine the staff meetings! I wonder if they run practice drills.Well fast dining does not make for a positive high end dining experience. It actually made what would have been an amazing dining experience much less enjoyable. There were times when our plates were being cleared before we were fully finished. This is not what I expect from an expensive restaurant. Would have given a higher rating but for the âin and outâ attitude of the staff.Knowing this now, be forewarned. I would give it a try but slow down your waiters! The challenge will be to see if you can. Good luck!

Goldberg's has the best bagels. They also have tofu cream cheese and soymilk available for coffee, so it's perfect for people who are vegan or can't have milk. I only give it four stars because they charge double to price of a bagel just to toast it, and another nearby place does it for free.

In a departure from the urban settings in which youâll typically find our restaurants, The Palm East Hampton is tucked away at the historic Huntting Inn â a popular bed and breakfast on one of the countryâs most beautiful Main Streets. But donât let the s
The Palm remains one of the great restaurants in the Hamptons year round. Thanks to Andrew and Shelia one moves quickly from the lobby to your table. The restaurant is usually filled on Saturday night year round. Fridayâs and Sundayâs are more reasonable except during July and August when every night is very busy. The steaks and lobsters are the specialty of the house and delicious. Creamed spinach and onion rings and steak fries are a must as is the Monday night salad. The carrot cake can feed a small nation but you most probably wonât want to share it with too many people at your table. Extensive wine list and some very reasonable bottles. Reservations are a must.

This place is a old standby for everyone local. Always busy sometimes the service is annoying but that is everywhere. There are comfortable booths for four or six, a great bar and Amagansett village which sells itself. The French Onion Soup is good on a cold night.

We called into Rowdy Hall on a Sunday afternoon, initially just for a drink. Dermot, the bartender, was excellent - really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We asked to look at the menu, thinking we might call back later to eat. Dermot described all of the specials and explained that there would be a limited menu between 3.30 and 5pm, for the changeover between lunch and dinner. As it was already around 2.30, we decided to stay for lunch, after weâd finished our drinks. It all went downhill after that ...We chose a table and a server arrived to take a drinks order. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir (Dermot had kindly given us a taste of it at the bar). Our server asked a couple of times if we had any questions about the menu. He didnât at any point mention any of the specials. When we chose our meals, I asked for the shrimp sandwich special, which Dermot had said came with potato chips, fries or greens. I wasnât offered this choice by the server, he just said âIt comes with potato chips.â His colleague did come over later to ask if I wanted to change to a different side order, but it all sounded like it was too much trouble for them. My husband ordered a Croque Madame - ie a Croque Monsieur with a fried egg on top. The server asked how heâd like his egg fried. When it arrived there was no egg. At no point did anybody ask if everything was okay with our meal, so my husband had to wait until our server topped up our water glasses to point out that he hadnât had an egg and to ask him to make sure we werenât charged for it. My husband then heard the two servers talking about it and the female server saying âDoes he want the egg now, then?â She then walked past us, so my husband told her that he didnât want the egg. Her reply was indiscernible, but sounded like âMeh.â There was certainly no sign of any sort of apology from anybody for getting the order wrong. The food was good, but it felt as if we were imposing on them by choosing to eat just before the changeover period and everything was rushed. My husbandâs plate was whisked away as soon as heâd finished, but before I had, and then when Iâd finished my sandwich, my plate was snatched away, along with the remaining potato chips, which were in a separate bowl. The server didnât think to ask whether I was still eating them, and as heâd put his hand right over the top of them to take them away, I certainly wasnât going to ask him to put them back down. He also kept topping up our wine glasses as if he wanted to rush us through the bottle. When there was a bit left (maybe half a glass each) in the bottle, he looked at it and asked whether we thought we would finish it. We said yes, then when he came back, we asked why heâd asked the question and he said âWell if you canât finish it, I could put a cork in it for you. Or I could help you out with it.â It was a nice bottle of wine, which we wanted to savour during and after our meal, but he completely spoiled that experience for us.When we paid the bill, we scored out the gratuity line, to make it clear that we donât tip for poor service and bad attitude. We did, however, give Dermot a cash tip when we left, as he clearly deserved it.

On our recent road trip to Montauk, we made our first progressive lunch stop at the Clam Bar. We shared an order of the Montauk Pearl Oysters (fresh and delicious), and Ron then had the Spicy Crab and Sweet Corn Chowder and I had the Manhattan Clam Chowder. Both of the soups were good but not outstanding. Our first waitress, Jennifer, was delightful, but her lunchtime replacement left a lot to be desired, unfortunately.

My daughter and I went here for early dinner. We shared the Lobster Roll...it was some kind of delicious!! We always like the Hillstone restaurants ( Houston's,Rutherford Grill, etc) They are always excellent and never disappoint, and East Hampton Grill was no exception. Can't wait to come back next year. The crowd in summer is ridiculous, but in the fall it is far more manageable. Atmosphere, personnel, food, service, all excellent.

The waiter seemed to be reading my mind and he was so knowledgeable in recommending food and wine pairing and did so very graciously it was a delight. The Food (squid for starters, lamb as main) was hands down among the best food Iâve ever had. Incredibly flavorful and fresh. I was in true food heaven. The Restaurant is very romantic and ideal for a special night out. Highly highly recommend

As you know or will soon find out, this place is busy and more often than not, you wait to be seated. We were there at 1 PM.While we waited, two seats at the counter opened up, so we ordered a couple appetizers to entertain our wait. Then another seat was freed, and then two more... so we kept ordering... and had our lunch at the counter, which was just fine, watching the flurry of activity of the kitchen... and we got out of there in a flash... in much less time than we would have waited for a table.I had fried oysters on a salad... very good. Crab cakes were OK, but we are not in Baltimore at Faidley's Seafood. Put Faidleyâs on your bucket list.

"This is where Summer begins." The Lobster Roll Restaurant, also known as "Lunch", is a nostalgic beach shack serving lunch and dinner to locals and guests from around the globe. Our critically acclaimed family restaurant serves beach-side favorites like
The food at the Lobster Roll this year is better than ever and we have been back three times, eating slightly different fish and seafood dishes. The lobster bisque is particularly tasty and great value. If you like margaritas, go for the Don Julio. A word of warning, it gets very crowded even in late August when the season is winding down so try to arrive around noon even on a week day. The service is very friendly which is an additional plus.
