After a long day on the water we just wanted some good food and drinks. FishTales delivered. Good pizza and the pulled pork sandwich on Texas toast was very good. Drinks went down easy and a nice night over all.
While staying in Algoma you will find that finding a place to eat on Sunday or Monday is a difficult task.As the saying goes, if all else fails, go to Subway. The service was very good and as far as quality and price,Subway always has a good sandwich.

OK, Iâm from right around Chicago and so Iâm a tough grader. So I canât honestly say that the pizza was âfantasticâ or anything over-the-top like that. But itâs above average for Wisconsin (so âdecentâ). And service was good tooâas were the beers. I liked the place (even with the noise of kids bowling nearby).

A small sports bar in the small downtown, there is plenty to watch on the tv's and a pool table. A small menu provided a plate of mini tacos, a side salad and a nice Gunmetal Porter. Numerous locals came in while we were visiting, greeted by name with their drink already being prepared. Nice little spot to stop into. I especially liked the banister around the upper level of the bar (baseball bats).

We had a great server who was super helpful and gave us thorough information in a condensed timeframe. They give you a piece of paper to customize your burger any way you would like, they also have signature chef burgers which they ask you don't modify, understandably! There is a kids menu as well. Their coleslaw is outstanding, I actually got two more orders to go. Their house thousand island dressing is superb; A great addition to any burger, their everything bun is so soft and delicious! The burger is huge, super juicy and more than enough to split! My husband had a chef burger with pulled pork that was super flavorful and juicy! A must stop! So delicious!!

After an early morning of fishing in Lake Michigan, we stopped to n from r breakfast. Place was busy. Very simple diner with a friendly staff. The menu was a traditional as it gets with choices of eggs, potatoes, and breakfast meats. Sausage and biscuits along with French toast and pancakes are available. Prices were reasonable.

Went here two nights in a row with two different sets of my husband's relatives.Best fried chicken expect for my grandmother's! Had a beer or two in the bar and then when our table was ready moved into the dining room for the meal. What a spread-stuffing, two kinds of potatoes, gravy and the best green beans I have ever eaten.A true WI food experience. Go early and I hear the fish fry is excellent too. And my husband loved the price.

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, five tables plus some people at the bar. Their was only one gal working (including bar tending) and she was great, kept everyoneâs drinks full and checked back often. We had the Italian Beef sandwich and Pot Roast Sandwich, both weâre good, the bread was perfect. Also tried the deep fried cheese curds, yum! Would definitely recommend, good service, fast service and good food. It was foggy so no lake view but thatâs just weather.

Offering fresh, hand-crafted sandwiches, wraps, specialty coffees and fruit teas, Caffe'tlazo is a hidden gem in Algoma. Our food was tasty (especially my wife's Reuben), our drinks were perfectly prepared, and dessert was outstanding. I thought the service was excellent. Sure, we had to wait a few minutes for our food, but this isn't a fast-food joint, it's a local bistro offering fresh, handmade food that is different and unique. If you're in that much of a hurry, call ahead or go to Jimmy John's! So if you're near Algoma, stop in, take a seat, take a breath, slow down for a minute and enjoy the simple luxury of great fresh food you never thought could exist in a little coastal town in northern Wisconsin.

If I were driving through town and even noticed this place probably wouldn't;t have stopped. Fortunately this place was featured on "Wisconsin Foodie", on public television."Five star food in a dive bar" is the motto and it's so true. Walking in you're greeted warmly by the staff. They thank you for visiting and that even before you order a drink. The menu is pretty simple and posted on two chalkboards. We sat at the bar, but there are a handful of high-top tables sit at. My kitchen home, chichis average in size is larger the the kitchen location end at the end of the bar, but don't make the mistake of judging a book by its cover.I ordered the shrimp and grits. Amazing. The cheese grits were slathered in a zesty cajun sauce topped with large shrimp. Would it have been rude to lick my plate? I wanted to. This entree was $16.50.My companion had the decadent blue cheese stuffed tenderloin with asparagus three artistically plated starches; garlic mashed potatoes, cheesy grit and mashed sweet potatoes that could have been served for dessert. It was $38.00.One of the best meals I've had in Wisconsin.
