A friend took me to this tiny restaurant tucked away in this neighborhood I never would be able to find it then, or again. It's very small, organic, but every expat within 20 miles seemed to know it. They have art on the walls, which as I recall are that berry blue, and tables and chairs and plates that don't match one another. There was a singer when I was there, who was great - he did all kinds of music - Senegalese, West African, American, Jamaican, etc. We had a choice of maybe 10 dishes, and other than the shrimp/scallops, ate family style with salad, frites and so forth. The wine was actually good - hadn't expected that! But the real reasons to come here (if you can find it) are that the food is really good and feels like home cooking, and the ambiance is not your sterile boring restaurant.

Please note: In fairness to the Safari Beach Restaurant, this report concerns only the BAR and not to the restaurant as a whole. With my family, we went to the Safari beach for an early evening Apéro at around 6:00pm. As all of the tables were set up for dinner, we opted to stay by the bar - using the bar stools and to order our drinks there. There were about 5-6 staff in or around the bar who were busy talking, joking and laughing amongst themselves loudly who took little notice of us when we arrived. I had to ask if it was ok to have a drink or cocktail before being offered the drinks list. After 5 minutes then I had to call over one of the bar staff to be able to make an order for the 3 of us. There were no other customers at the bar. I ordered 2 of the same cocktails and a G&T. The order took 10 minutes to be served and the staff's humorous banter and chit-chat with each other continued loudly between the staff all around us - as though there was no concern whatsoever for respecting the presence of paying customers at the bar. We decided not to have a second drink there in the light of the bad and impolite service and ambiance at the bar.We then went on to Le Petit Zinc, for our next drinks, where there was a super ambiance and where the service was fast, professional and polite and the drinks were half the price of the Safari Beach - due to it being Happy Hour.I know the Safari Beach Restaurant food is quite good from my past experience and the view of the beach and the seaside is lovely - however, I shall now personally avoid going to the Safari Beach because of this ill-disciplined, unruly and rude bar-staff experience we suffered there.Hello,My english is very bad... I would like to thank you for your constructive cooperation and i really present you all my excuses for the bad moment you had in our restaurant. It's true the direction is not at there at that time but we will be carefull on the future. I hope you will let us another chance... Best regards

Part of the fun of « Rastaâs place » is the getting there - either by the restaurantâs boat across the Somone Delta from the Baobab Hotel peninsula (10 mins) or by my 4WD car through the Somone Nature Reserve beside the mangrove swamps (40 mins).Last week as it was well post rainy season, we opted for the longer trip via the Reserve. It was a fun adventure of trial and error choosing the best route through the Reserve with no signage...We enjoyed our BBQ-ed local whole Thiof & Capitaine (but unfortunately they were slightly over-BBQ-ed... it being a windy day). Their whole fish are usually more succulent and juicy. In future, I think Iâll specify that I prefer my fish a bit « under » cooked - to get what I want.A lovely lunchtime outing, nonetheless...

On the main street well lit at night you cant miss it. Seating on roadside veranda for 20 people or so on tables for four with as many again inside, although inside isn't really descriptive of the open windows allowing cool breeze on a hot night. Reasonable menu choice, all in French, English not available. We choose a local dish each, yassa poulet and yassa poisson. Basically fish or chicken with rice and yassa, the sauce. This was really nice....a sort of combination of mango chutney with onions....sweet but very pleasant. There was a choice of desserts which we did not try. On a second visit we had sole and fires, basic but quite good. Reasonably priced and reasonable quality locally run place with wholesome food, perhaps a more challenging order next time. Main 2500 and 3000CFA per person 4.5 to 5 Euro.

Grillade au feu de bois sous la case africaines et dans un cadre arboré venez déguster des fruits des spécialistes de fruits de mer et plats tipiques.
The menu is very basic but it is a nice quiet place to have a drink at the lagoon. Ibra is very nice and the prices are very reasonable. The toilet was not that clean but the rest was good. he has very comfortable hammocks.

Seemingly upscale place in this off the beaten path area. The owner is friendly and the food also reasonable. There are so few upmarket places. It's necessarily a place to go if you stay a couple of days.

Jean Marie, small roadside restaurant, four or so tables on a patio frontage. We don't speak French so expected to encounter some difficulties in ordering food, which proved to be the case. A restaurant with no menu ! So we could only see the one dish advertised on the balckboard, Frutta de Mar in a crepe with cheese sauce. It was large, easily sufficient for a main dish. And absolutely delicious. Fish, small prawns, calamari, all encloses in a light crepe with a beautiful cheese sauce. 5000cfa per person, about 7.5 Euro. If we understand only one dish it had better be really good, and this was.
