Reviews on African food in Accra, Greater Accra, Ghana. Stretched along the Atlantic Ocean, Ghana's most populous city boasts glittering beaches, monumental buildings, museums, libraries, galleries, traditional markets and lively nightlife. Accra's architecture reflects its colonial history, with 17th century castles standing alongside modern skyscrapers. A veritable melting pot of cultures, the city's central financial and shopping districts contrast sharply with the less affluent residential areas surrounding the urban core.

The Country Kitchen Restaurant in Central Accra was a great find. The food is great, and the price is right. If you want to experience authentic Ghanaian food in a pleasant atmosphere, this is the place for you. Tell the owner that Troy from Pennsylvania sent you.

If you want a gourmet French meal, there are other places you can go. Le Grand Ecuyer offers very good, well-priced French/Togolese food in a quaint atmosphere. I have visited on a number of occasions and the food has always been fresh and tasty. The steaks are always a good option, not the finest cuts of meat but well cooked and juicy. Fish has always been fresh and served in well-matched sauces. Beware of the rice dishes, you will be served a MOUNTAIN of food, share between at least two people! The service is nothing to write home about, quite slow at peak times but I've never had a bad experience. Despite its semi-roadside setting, it is well enclosed by plants and the heavy wood decor inside creates a cosy but ambient environment

My friend and I had a meal at this noble place which we really enjoyed so much and wish to visit them again and about the price, the price worth what we were served, solid customer service but little delay will the orders but at the end we really enjoyed the meal...they also hv more varieties on the buffet.
La Brasserie by Wood is located on the grounds of Alliance Francaise Accra and is a relaxed and intimate restaurant featuring French and Italian favorites fused with local Ghanaian spices and ingredients. Fusion comfort food!
I just spent a lovely Tuesday afternoon at La Brasserie with my favourite neice. Our taste buds were pleasantly surprised by the savoury yet sweet flavours of the mixed grill platter. I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a calm environment to enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch and even dinner. Definitely a ten out of ten.

The Republics atmosphere varies from a quaint after work secret chill out spot, to a bustling local & cheap cocktail bar on weekends. They have wonderful Mojitos and Caipirinhas at an amazingly affordable price, not to mention delicious meals that you jus
So if you are in Accra and want to hang out at a spot where you will see the locals in their usual selves, this is a place you should consider. I visited The Republic on a Wednesday night so it wasn't so congested. I hear this spot can look like a street party on Friday nights...so depending on what you want, do take note. The food was just okay and I got the most generous serving of calamari I've ever had here. If you are sophisticated and 'boujee' then this is not a place for you. But if you are street, then you should come here. The staff were nice though - one of them helped us to get an Uber since we were away from our hotel and didn't have wifi.

Azmera Restaurant is a one of kind restaurant, offering a wide range of local Ghanaian dishes served in an elegant buffet style.
Large buffet with local dishes. Don't expect any healthy choices but if you are up to a heavy and very satisfying meal this is the place. Staff is friendly and will explain the dishes to you!

This is a non-AC, local restaurant but has amazing West African food. And their pepe (sauces that come with the food) is out of this world.

Located within Alliance Française, where you can run away for the traffic and air of the city, surrounded by a small garden that allows us to get closer to nature a little. Papa cuisine collects a great amount of gastronomic experiences that guide the pal
We live not far from here so walked in to check it out mid afternoon. We were actually heading to the pizza place instead. Food was great, lots of different international type dishes from all over the world. I had schnitzel, lovely. Will definitely go back to see what the area is like a bit later in the day.

Buka, as it is more popularly known, was set up to cater especially for the middle-income business community and the discerning international traveler. It proudly oï¬ers an excellent fusion of local dishes (using the ï¬nest of ingredients), and friendly ser
This was my third attempt at eating out in Accra. Buka was a far cry from the run-down restaurants that I'd been to on previous evenings. We were slightly disappointed by not being able to sit outdoors, but it was a Friday evening and we had not made dinner reservations. The restaurant serves both Nigerian and Ghanaian food. The drinks menu is larger than the main menu, although the main menu offered enough variety for us. We didn't have to wait too long for our food but the waiter did not visit our area too often and we had to go looking for a staff member to get our bill. The restaurant has free WiFi and so when it was time to head back to our hotel we simply hailed an Uber cab.Dear Talampakan,It was great to have you visit our restaurant and we are appreciative that you took time to share your review after your experience. We are happy to read that you enjoyed the time at our restaurant. We have taken note of your displeasure points which we will diligently work to improve. We look forward to hosting you again,Thank You.

A small and cosy restaurant serving a buffet consisting of a selection of authentic Ethiopian dishes.
I have visited Simret 3 times over my 8 months in Ghana. It has always been a pleasure. The food is amazing with a great abundance of vegetarian and vegan choices. It is expensive for Ghana (Iâve been living in a fishing village) but not expensive for Accra or for the quality of food/atmosphere. Coffee served after dinner is the best coffee Iâve had in Ghana. We thank you for your kind comments. We only take issue with the issue of cost. We consider our charges to be very reasonable when compared to other similar establishment in Accra. As you would appreciate our cost profile is different to that of an eating place in a fishing village in many different ways. This is not to belittle the latter.
