Read about this place several times and finally reached! Luckily it wasn't as long as I thought. I had famous seafood donburi and my wife had curry. She look back and regret her choice. We also tried several other cuisines. If you go there, it's not just about choosing what is common to you. Hope you challenge and try unfamiliar new cuisines. Wonderful restaurant.

Location is quite in the middle of no where, need to have car to go there. Located beside river, nice view and peaceful. The building made of log wood with all wood decoration. They use charcoal to grill the meat. Can choose from various kind of beef and pork and tender chicken. Also have english menu and they give us apron to cover our clothes. Price is quite expensive though but the highest level beef (forget the name) was incredible, so worth to try. we went there for lunch and low season, or else, reservation is a must.

Decided to check out this place because it's a stone's throw away from the laundromat (and I have about an hour to spare before collecting my laundry). Turns out that this is quite a local favourite, and there's a healthy stream of customers. What separates this ramen place from others in Tomakomai is that there's a variety of ramen to choose from - not only Japanese staples like miso and shoyu but also Chinese variations. The set meals are cheap but don't expect generous offerings of vegetables / garnishes. The soup base is slightly on the oily side for those more health-conscious but that hasn't stopped me from slurping up the soup... Tomakomai is not exactly known for sushi but its ramen here definitely rivals some of the best in Sapporo that I've tried.

Everything we ordered was fantastic, and like the title says, actually unbelievable value. Crab dishes for 800 yen. Was good atmosphere and nice staff.

I had the curry / soy ramen. It was really amazing. Nice little and old ramen shop in a charming spa town.

For the price, I guess it's not too bad though I must admit I have had better カツ before. About ¥1,825 for a set which includes rice, cabbage and miso soup. Still, the atmosphere here is relaxed and the staff are pretty attentive... It's a popular spot with the locals...

Checked out this place for the first time although I have been living around the area for 3 months now. The place is pretty small and cosy, seats about 20-30 people. Location is pretty nondescript and may be inconspicuous from the main road.

This is a local gem!!! For just 1,500 yen, you can get your fix of fresh seafood (served in generous portions), ちらし style for 1,000 yen and a てんぷら side dish for 500 yen!!! Small reward for my diligent housework this morning... This place is a popular haunt with the locals and even office workers alike. And it's not difficult to see why... Another must-try is the local ヒッキ ちらし、basically giant clams, which is the local specialty seafood of Tomakomai.
