What a treat in a small family owned restaurant near the Tachikawa station They offer only goyza such as (squid, asari-clam, pork, vegetable, potato, corn, green-onion), (shrimp, shiitake-mushroom, leek, garlic), (cheese, octopus, crab, scallop all are priced at about 1000 yen ($10). Try them with a pitcher of beer

i have been to the one in Taipei 101, it was soo good that we tried to find one in Tokyo.Pros:service was super quicknot too long of waitingbetter than any xiaolongbao sold in any chinese resto in TokyoCons:Superexpensive for the qualitynothing close the one in Taipeithe xiaolongbao was so dull, not warmDont expect the same quality with Taipei Din Tai Fung, but enough for your xiaolongbao craving.

Used to watch Iron Chef on SBS and had always enjoyed the way it was dubbed in English. After visiting Mt Takao, thought I should visit Kenichi's mapo tofu restaurant to see how good his mapo tofu really is. Boy was I disappointed! Service was pretty average to start with, and so was the mapo tofu. There wasn't enough Sichuan pepper punch to it, which is probably necessary to suit the Japanese palette. While you could add extra pepper yourself, it's just not the same. I think we are very lucky here in Melbourne where we can get authentic mapo tofu dish here easily. The dumpling and the almond jelly was so so as well. Wouldn't eat there again even if I were in the area again. Sorry Iron Chef!
