We found this restaurant on Tripadvisor. We wanted an early dinner as we had kids and had only just arrived to Japan on the Red Eye from Australia. Upon entering the restaurant we were supplied a table straight away. Bearing in mind this was our first authentic japan meal for the trip we were taken back by the lack of an english menu. Fortunately one of the chefs must have recognised our limited language skills and took us out the front of the shop and described the meals to us. We pointed and we held up the appropriate number of fingers per serve...not forgetting the beer order! We were served 10mins with brilliant and plentiful servings of some great food. Definitely worth a visit.

24 hour open cafeteria & restaurant with multilingual staff and menu. We offer international dishes as well as Japanese ones. Vegetarian dishes and Muslim friendly menu are also available. Free WiFi, child chairs, diaper changing restroom available.
Incredibly hospitable staff, who were helpful with every need we had - including phones with 4G, charger converters, and booking fun day trips. The shared bathrooms and cafe were always kept in tip-top shape by the daily cleaners, as were the quaint bedrooms. There was always enough space and the tatami mats were very comfortable.Would highly recommend this hotel for all english and non-english speakers staying in Japan.Dear guest,Thank you very much for staying with us and your feedback! We are very happy that you seem to have fully enjoyed our hotel and Japan. Also we are relieved you felt comfortable sleeping on tatami mat, which some guests find it a bit hard to sleep well.We never be reluctant to make effort for further improvement. please see another chance to back to Japan. And let us tell you more about Japanese tips.We look forward to that time. Thank you again for this time!

The Takase is located in Ikebukuro. It's 1 min from Seibu department store in the East exit of JR line. The Takase building, on the 2nd and the 9th floors, they serve a variety of drinks and light foods. It's not something like trend cafe styles but Japanese old fashioned style you can enjoy.

This is a busy little restaurant in themain shopping street of Jiso-dori, Sugamo-the old folks Ginza. Don't expect Englishmenus - all the food is listed on the wallsin Japanese and the waitresses don'tspeak English!Don't be put off however, because the foodhere is very good, the prices cheap and theportions generous. We visit here a couple oftimes every time we visit Japan. Last April,I chose Ebi - giant shrimps, which came witha large bowl of rice, miso soup and Japanesepickles. This year in October I ordered Sanma -delicious sea pike. A very large bottle of Asahior Kirin costs only 450 yen and most dishes arein the 850 to 950 range. They make their profits on fast turnover, so it isa place for a quick lunch, not a relaxing meal, butit is an interesting experience for foreign visitorsand the food is very good. If you visit the Sugamoshopping street, take the opportunity of includinglunch at Tokiwa.
