We have been here a number of times when we visit family in Kichijoji and we keep on returning. It is a little hard to find being on the 4th. floor in a building between two alleys off Sun Road to the left but it is definitely worth finding. It is a Korean style yakiniku barbecue restaurant with central charcoal cooking at the table. We usually order a few different types of meat and vegetables to grill and my favorite, bebimbap, which is rice with meat, vegetables and an egg cracked in at the end, cooked in a stone bowl which is so hot the rice goes crispy where it is in contact with the bowl. Mix in the Korean chilli paste and away you go! Beer is the best accompaniment. The staff are always very attentive checking out the state of the charcoal fire and replacing the wire griddle at times when it gets some burnt bits stuck to it. There is an older guy on the staff who always makes a fuss over my grandson and has been known to give him presents to play with.It must be popular with the locals because it is always crowded.

The door says 'no meat no life'.... After tasting the wagyu beef that they serve, you have to agree!Really impressive to see the cooks work in that tiny space (but we're in Japan after all). They have all kind of beef at different price range, even the Kobe beef (but you'll have to pay a lot more of course). So you'll find something you want and can afford.Discover the Santori Highball there too. It's just outside the Maruyama park in the Gion district. So after the meal, we went for a walk following the Kamo river.

We met friends here on a Friday night for dinner. Our Japanese friends picked the location and we were so happy with their choice. We went up to the second floor and were quickly shown to our private room (we had reservations). All the rooms were occupied and it seems very busy. Our soon-to-be-friends arrived a few minutes later and the fun began. We had two cooking grills where we cooked our meats and veggies -- lucky for us, two of the ladies knew how to do the cooking. The food is great, the service is good and the grills are so much fun to cook on. This was a fun experience and a great way to meet and make new friends.
