We use to live down the road from this restaurant and got takeaway weekly from there. We moved over 30 miles away but still visit regularly as we havenât found anything to match. The food is delicious, service is always welcoming and attentive. Love Monday nights which is Thali which is a bit like Indian tapas so you get to try lots of things at a reasonable cost.

We stopped off at The Oak in Grays on the way to Tilbury Cruise terminal. The pub is easy to find and really convenient as a breakfast stop before embarking on a cruise from Tilbury. Parking is available to the rear of the pub - it's pay & display but the charge is refunded if you buy from the pub. We arrived at around 11am on a Sunday and we were the first in the pub. It's a huge place and worn at the edges but we were made very welcome and ordering breakfast was very easy and the food was soon with us. A full breakfast with unlimited tea or coffee was less than £5! A vegetarian option is also available. The food was served piping hot and was very tasty.By the time we left there were a few customers at the bar - all very friendly with one or two making conversation and eager to help us with directions to the cruise terminal which incidentally is just a few minutes drive from the pub.We will be using Tilbury port more often now and will certainly stop at The Oak!Mark T, thank you for your kind words and this wonderful review! We look forward to your next visit! Take care!
