We came here for dinner, we were quite happy to find a place that looked good that was open as it was a holiday it was mostly fast food places and small cafes that where open. The restaurant has a pretty good, most typical things you get at most German cafe/restaurants, soup, salad, crepes, sandwiches, pasta, tarte flambee, steaks, schnitzel and desserts. The prices were good for the quality of the food. The service was quick and friendly. We both had to start a soup called Soljanka, which is a typical dish from the GDR times with a tomato-vegetable broth with different vegetables and sausage pieces and served with a roll on the side. We both liked it very much. I also had the spicy tarte flambee and my husband the hamburger without a side dish. We both liked our main dishes though I would have liked the middle to be crispier of the tarte flambee. For desert, my husband had a chili-hot chocolate, the flavour was good but it wasn't so spicy.

We enjoyed this nicely decorated, casual, bistro type restaurant with its relaxing atmosphere. The cuisine was excellent and offered a great range of nice, tasty, fresh dishes served by a very friendly team. Also good selection of drinks and nice wines. There was nothing to complain about ! Should we get the opportunity, we would definitely go there again!

Chausseehaus Zur Einnahme

5 of us ate here last weekend. My main course (schnitzel) arrived a long time after the others (my father in law was just finishing his) without apology. It was a soggy greasy mess and the worst schnitzel I have tasted. My wife's special chicken dish was much better. I should have checked the bill but quickly hid it so that neither my parents-in-law nor the over 80 year old who was our guest did not try to pay as I wanted to treat them. That is why I failed to realise until we returned home that I had been charged twice for my late and poor quality main course. So my rubbish late schnitzel cost EUR 22.We ate here before last year and had a good experience but shall not bother returning again. I suspect the problem may have been related to their being very busy - so much so that we were accommodated in the associated ice-cream parlour next door. But still no excuse for shoddy service and overcharging.
