Reviews on Italian food in Weimar, Thuringia, Germany. Weimar was quite the intellectual hotspot back in the day, with Goethe, Friedrich Schiller, Bach, Liszt, Lucas Cranach and the Weimar School all spending time here. Goethe groupies will enjoy visiting his home, his tomb and the museum dedicated to him. If you’re in search of great food, visit during the Weimar Onion Market, held in October. (Just don’t forget your mints.)

Light and delicious Italian food, after spending a few hours wandering around the old market center of Weimar we were looking for somewhere uncomplicated to eat.Servings were medium-sized to large, the pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauces were excellent. I am not a cook and cannot describe exactly what made this taste so good, but we ate at several Italian restaurants during our ten days in Germany and this was by far the best. Entrees were between 8 and 15 euros.Outstanding food and a beautiful town.

Pizza
I went to the Versilia restaurant for a dinner with colleagues and I must say I was very happy with this place .... we ate some appetizers and various bruschetta ... a pizza with radicchio and salami provola .. a pasta with radicchio and shrimp .. a fennel tartare and calamari .. a salmon with cream of potatoes and zucchini ... all very good and accompanied by a good wine and a very efficient service .... to finish a dessert with grilled pineapple and mousse chocolate ... we will definitely be back soon...

It is an italian restaurant in the middle of Thuringia. It may not seem a good idea, but you may want a break from all the bratwurst. The pizza and the pasta were good, the price was correct and the staff was efficient and courteous. It is a good bet for a quick bite or a dinner after a long day.

Excellent italian food with an attentive service. The place deserves its name: it is an inner garden where the tables are set. We were surprised to read some of the bad reviews, they do not reflect our very satisfactory experience. We strong recommend il Giardino.

We greatly enjoyed the buckwheat crepe with a good selection of fillings. Service was fast and pleasant. Everything much lighter and tastier than we had imagined it would be. Choice of seating indoor or out quite extensive.

My wife and I stopped at Napoli so that we could get a quick pasta supper, and that´s what we did. The spaghetti dishes were reasonably tasty (the tomato sauce was mostly nicely cooked tomato pieces). But the large family on the next table practically crowded us out. Nonetheless, a nice place for a sensible meal. The mixed salad described by the waitress as "small" was actually big enough for two to share

We were here on a warm August night during the wine festival. The food was very good but I found the atmosphere even better. Seems on Saturday nights in the summer there is Tango in the Plaza. We got a front row seat and it made for a most enjoyable night.

This popular restaurant has a number of small rooms and this makes it hard for the staff to cover in a timely fashion. The minestrone is fresh, which meant it took quite a while to come as well, and the pizza was decent. But there are other, more efficient Italian restaurants in town that you might prefer.
