This is one of my familyâs favourite restaurants in Weimar. Quality of the mainly Thüringen-based dishes is consistently good, the service usually good, though sometimes a bit slow. So if you are looking for an authentic down-to-earth place to try Thüringer Kloesse dumplings or something else from the region, check this place out. Do not expect high-level cuisine and service, though. I do advise to book a table in advance and not to shy away from the hilarious dumpling-offering doll outside...

This hotel is a remarkable find with a fascinating history. It was constructed in 1988 as a conference center and country hotel for the ruling party during the time of East Germany (the DDR). Erich Honecker was present at the official opening. Although the building looks very unimpressive from the outside (it looks more like a factory than a hotel), it is absolutely amazing on the inside - in addition to about 30 guest rooms, there are several very large meeting and conference rooms, including one huge auditorium for 600 people! All of the guest rooms have been totally renovated since German re-unification (no doubt thanks to reconstruction money that came from the West Germans), and the guest rooms are clean, spacious, bright, and very pleasant. It appears that the hotel is operated as sort of a community co-op, and the prices are very low - â¬40 for a single room, including free parking and a very substantial breakfast. The staff are very friendly and very welcoming. I asked for a room with a desk, and was given a free upgrade to a very large double room. The manager also gave me a tour of the auditoriums and conference center - these have not been renovated since the facility was built and it is fascinating to see the 'Eastern Block' decor and design in the conference center. The hotel is pretty much in the middle of no-where, just outside a very small village, so, there is really not much to do. They do have a bar and a good kitchen and offer evening meals. There is also a sauna and a bowling alley. All in all, quite a fascinating place, clean and comfortable, with ridiculously low prices.

Where once was a shelter for carts and threshers we present ourselves to you today as a restaurant with a special flair in Kammergut Tiefurt. The historic building were rebuilt with great attention to detail. The result was a successful mix of old and new
We called into this charming converted carriage mews attached to a summer 'palace' in beautiful 'English-style' parkland. Despite the restaurant appearing full (rain sent all outdoor diners racing for indoor tables), Der Chef managed to magic up a table from somewhere and place it in a premier position by the huge panoramic Windows. We all chose 'Flammkuchen' which is a flatbread-type dish with a white rather than a tomato-based sauce. The 4 different flatbreads were delicious and very filling. We noticed that they also provided a range of steaks, cooked as the English would like (the locals like it nuked!). What we saw leaving the kitchen looked good and seemed to be going down well with the diners. The staff were helpful, cheerful, but didn't speak much English - nor was there an English version of the menu, so foreigners beware!Dear Guestswe wouldt like to thank you very much for your kind feedback an are very happy to hear, that you enjoyed your stay with us in charming and historical village Tiefurt. We are looking very much forward to welcome you once more and wish you in the betweentime all the best.

This is the special occasion restaurant in Jena. Quite good. Vegetarians in particular will be pleased with the options, and I am sure the Indian-inspired vegetarian dishes on the menu (surprising) are better than youâd get at the very poorly-reviewed Indian restaurant in Jena. We loved our meal. Our server was dicey on the English but that was OK as one of us spoke German.

The restaurant is located in an older building with lots of character. The building was very unique in that he had 3 floors, at least 3, with a spiral staircase leading up to additional seating areas. My German is pretty poor but they had an English printed menu. The staff (Torsten) was exceptional in taking my order and providing recommendations. Was in Jena for a couple of weeks on business and ate there twice.

Love this place, great bar serving nice selection of beers and wines. Food in the restaurant is great with the option of a fixed price menu or from the a la carte..

Meat was tough with one dish and overcooked and dry on the other. Staff did not seem to be interested when we told them.It looks like there is not much other choice in Apolda.
