We stayed at chequers over the jubilee weekend and for our first night we had dinner in the bar. We took our dogs down with us and we were joined by other residents and their dogs too. It was a very friendly and relaxed setting. The food was amazing. Very well presented and perfect portion sizes. We both had a starter and a main. We did ask about dessert but the menu never reappeared. The food is quite pricey but it is worth it. On a side note the breakfasts are also amazing.

Anna’s House is perfectly located for the lovely beaches of the North Norfolk coast (and by the way Thornham beach is a real hidden gem!). Our room ‘Sanderson’ was well proportioned and I have to say the bed (and pillows!) were very comfortable - just what was needed after a day out walking. The complimentary coffee machine in the hall was a nice touch too as was the Hot Tub in the garden. Our room on the ground floor was quiet - you can’t hear much noise from the road and it was nice that each of the rooms has a private entrance. Ours came with a patio area that was great for early morning coffee and late afternoon tea! There are some great pubs within walking distance and the food for the couple we ate at was excellent, as was the fish & chips we had at Eric’s just a couple of minutes drive down the road. The deli over the road does great breakfasts and light lunches. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely come back again - it’s a very comfortable base without being over the top! Thanks for making our stay enjoyable.

We had Sunday Lunch at the Lifeboat and it was lovely. This is an extremely dog friendly establishment, perhaps one of the most welcoming we have ever experienced. The food was very nice and there was plenty of it. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Second stay in suite 4, which is beautifully decorated and appointed but cozy too. Fridge with freezer compartment is useful, and fresh milk and biscuits and sweets a lovely touch. The bathroom is luxurious and the beds soo comfortable. Being in the centre of Thornham and pubs and beach is just perfect. And then there is the famous deli and gift shop, staffed by such a helpful bunch. Food was amazing and the cream tea, best I have had. We stayed on a lovely hot evening and staff ensured we had access to outside seating area in the Evening. They could. It have done more and we will return again and again

Regularly stay in these cottages and have always had a lovely time. They’re cosy in size and beautifully presented. Stayed with extended family in the larger cottage 4 which meant it was a bit noisier with the creaking of floorboards when trying to sleep, so if you’re a light sleeper and have a noisy family it might be a bit loud for you. Not an issue of noise between cottages though! Great location too with beaches and pubs only a short walk away
