Fantastic experience! My favorite thing I did while visiting Amsterdam. The guide is from the area near Zaanse Schans and is so knowledgeable about it. You visit a lot of local shops - cheese tasting, clog making demonstration, chocolate production, and inside a windmill. I gained so much more than I would’ve by coming to Zaanse Schans on my own - and honestly, it’s so gorgeous that going there while in the area is a must!

There’s nothing better than spending a sunny summers day riding through the the countryside of Holland. A short ferry ride and an easy 20-minute cycle through the north of the city and we’ll reach the Waterlands, the countryside just outside of Amsterdam. Soon it’s cows and farmers’ signs offering up freshly made ice-cream and milk. There will be plenty of photo opportunities along the way as we cruise through the countryside en route to the Dutch Heritage site of the Zaanse Schans. You’ll have free time to explore, snap photos, checkout some cheese and clog stalls or visit the first ever Albert Heijn. Our return route will bring us back to town via Zaandam and its famous Intelhotel made from nearly 70 traditional Zaanse-style wooden houses. Coming back into town takes us past a local social-workplace brewery for our final stop before returning the bicycles. Since we'll spend most of our time outside the city, the stress of biking in Amsterdam will be minimized.
Inclusions: Use of bicycle, Beverage at the Brewery
Exclusions: Bring food/water for the tour or be prepared to purchase around half way out.
We had a great tour with Kendra. It was very informative. We discovered the most important places in Amsterdam and learned some historical facts about the city. We had some great laughs with Kendra on our way through the city. She was a well informed guide who could answer all our questions. Thank you for the nice experience !

As advertised, it took three hours, non-stop travelling in a comfortable coach. Might bother some there is no toilet. An hour and a half guided and then up ro 4 hours to explore as one pleases. A beautiful town, easy to navigate, lots of choice for famed chocolate, lace, waffles etc.. Surprisingly good value. Interesting small museums, churches, municipal buildings open to view. The admission costs could mount up if one sees them all, but free audio guides were a bonus. I recommend Gruuthuis museum and the church next door with Michael Angelo statue of Madonna and child. Seemingly carved whilst on a visit to the town. This motif can be seen on a myriad other buildings. All in all a good way to make a visit if one has no time to make a longer stay. Couriers Mar and Clara were attentive. They took a Spanish language group and I was handed over to a local guide to comprise the entire English language group.

Esther was an awesome guide! We particularly enjoyed her stories and photos of where she grew up (a farm with a working windmill!) and the small farm where she lives now with dogs, sheep, goats, cats and Sarah, the most intelligent pig ever. I have difficulty walking and she made every effort to drop me off and pick me up as close as possible to where we were going. The stops on the tour were great, and the places we stopped for lunch and hot chocolate were quaint and the food and drinks delicious. I highly recommend this tour and plan on returning for another tour with Esther and her company during tulip season.
