While en-route to Carcross, I stopped in at the shop after seeing the signs for it, and wow was I glad I did. Not only is it stocked full of Yukon specimens, many from the old mines around Whitehorse, but also has superb specimens from the Northwest Territories and around the world. The owner is extremely helpful and patient, and shared lots of interesting information about the history of the mines in the area, and helped me locate some specimens I really wanted for my collection. Prices are extremely affordable, and there's a wide range of rocks, minerals and souvenirs so you can get gifts for everyone you know, even those in your family with no interest in crystals/rocks (heresy, I know!).

Definitely the best gold and jewelry shop in Dawson! No aggressive salesmanship, just professional service and quality gold. Leslie, the owner and designer, gets gold from her family mine and other local sources. I had it in my mind to get a gold nugget in Dawson and within minutes of arriving, Leslie helped me find the perfect one. Then she helped design the perfect necklace, adding a loop to the nugget and 2 gold-embedded glass beads on either side. We went around the corner to see the show at Palace Grand Theatre and when we came back, the necklace was already complete. I love it so much!!

This place is awesome! I’ve been stopping here for decades, I’m a tour guide from Skagway. Ron is a hoot, super nice guy. Be sure to ask him if he wants to sell the antique stuff, he loves that. Kinda worried (more than kinda) about the 2020 season. It looks grim for everyone. Particularly for me, finally ready to sell Ron my ‘98 Toyota Tacoma, that he’s wanted for years. Ron? Ron?? —sigh.

North End Gallery, in Whitehorse, Yukon, specializes in paintings and prints by Yukon artists. We also carry etchings, Inuit sculpture, pottery and ceramics, metal art, blown and fused glass, and wood creations. Our jewellery selection is crafted from gold nuggets, sterling silver, trade beads, semi-precious stones, and dichroic glass. A significant part of the gallery is devoted to First Nations artisans. We have a wide variety of work in mammoth ivory, moose antler, caribou antler, and sheep horn, from sculptures and carvings to pendants and earrings. We are proud to be 100% Canadian.
If you are looking for quality Canadian made products both native and non native the North End Gallery is for you. They have an outstanding collection of art and everyday practical goods. Me wife and I both purchased items that were both unique and hard to find.
