Akumal and more Caribbean-style Chetumal, near the Belize border, deliver delectable white-sand beaches and great snorkelling. Merida, Chichen Itza and Tulum, with their ancient ruins, offer a passage into the Yucatanâs native history. Nature lovers can jungle trek and swim in subterranean sinkholes filled with crystal-clear water. Bike around the ruins and hop between towns in colectivo vans.

Alejandro was an outstanding guide taking us to the open Santiago market to review the local produce we will be eating at the nearby food stands. So when you eat the food you really get the taste and get an understanding of the local cuisine. Highly recommended! P.S. Don't eat breakfast and come hungry.

If you are looking for a stuffy, rigid tour with only historical info and no personality...this isn’t for you :). My bride and I LOVED Gonzalo and the entire tour - after the first stop, it was like we were hanging out w an old friend - one that knows the island like the back of his hand. All in all...great time and a must do when spending some time on the island. BTW - if you like fish tacos...you’ll have some of the best you’ve ever had on this tour. Just sayin :) Have fun!!!

Our guide Sasha took us to four of his favorite taco places around Cancun and gave us a little history of the area. At each place we got a different type of taco and a drink. Afterward, we went to a local park with a street fair where we are churros and looked at the booths. It was a pleasant three and a half hours. Highly recommended if you want to sample what the locals eat.

Very helpful with recommendations for food and what to do in the area. We were Group of 8, Julio and Diego made us feel very comfortable and gave us a lot of space for us and our things. The food was delicious most of us had the molejete mar y tierra. It came out fast and all the drinks mixed drinks we had were very good. They were not overwhelming but full of flavor. This was the biggest lie and scam that has ever happened to me. They lied straight to our face from the first line they spoke to us until the very end. Promised a snorkel tour, trip to the mayan ruins, and a nice "beach club" lunch. We received a glorified taxi ride; stuffed 6 people in a singular jeep and drove in the car for 5 hours with stops at tourist traps and staged "activities." The tequila factory they took us to was FAKE... they just import tequila to sell. The plants were dead, the displays were made out of plastic (creepy)...The "beach club" was DISGUSTING and filled with thieves trying to steal your things right in front of you and continue to lurk after you catch them! The food was made out of RUBBER. The water was muddy and smelly, unlike the other beaches on the island, and there were sharp rocks everywhere making it DANGEROUS to swim. Here's the kicker!! We wanted to go home early because we were shocked, and our tour guide made us TAXI home, claiming the jeep didn't HAVE GAS TO GO BACK. Every part of this day was horrible. I don't even know what we payed for... we saw nothing and were continuously lied to. PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS TRAP.

This is a 2- hour food and shopping experience. after a small brief of the history of the island i will take you to 7 different local food stop's, each place will be unique and delicious, the real flavor of Mexican food. as a plus the tour end up with an artesanal ice cream and a tequila tasting. The pick up it's on the Rafael e. Melgar avenue, in front of the fiscal pier, beside the palmeras restaurant. We will visit the all small vendors on the street, that you normally would avoid for the single reason that you maybe don't even know about how to ask for it or if the food its good or not. However this are the perfect places to give you an authentic point of view of the Mexican cuisine.
Inclusions: during the tour, Snacks

My husband and I took this tour with Mauricio. He was super informative and fun to walk around the streets of Playa del Carmen. Learn about the local flavours and do not hesitate to ask him about his family recipes! He will take you to several stops, explain the origins of each meal and provide an inside look at the locals life in Playa del Carmen. We loved this experience, and would recommend it to anyone that loves to eat absolutely delicious yet simple flavours.
Everything starts with a relaxing trip on a catamaran from Cancun to the island, Snorkeling and swim with colorful tropical fish, see amazing coral formations, 2 hours free time to explore the charming streets of downtown and Playa Norte beach one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, on the beach club will have a delicious lunch and drinks.
Inclusions: Continental breakfast, Snorkeling equipment, Open bar service (domestic drinks and liquors only), Visit to downtown Isla Mujeres, Buffet lunch at a beach club in Isla Mujeres
Exclusions: Ground transportation to/from the marina, Additional activities in Isla Mujeres or Cancun., Any meals or snacks during the catamaran round trip, Dock fee & reef tax per person (12 USD approximately)
10/10 I would do this trip again. My advice would be to go for the 4 hour tour over the 2 hour version because it goes by very quickly. Everyone is unbelievably kind and you taken care of the entire time. If you are looking for a snorkeling trip where you don't have to plan anything, this is the one for you.
