Yorkshire (/ˈjɔːrkʃər, -ʃɪər/; abbreviated Yorks), formally known as the County of York, is a historic county of Northern England and the largest in the United Kingdom. Due to its great size in comparison to other English counties, functions have been undertaken over time by its subdivisions, which have also been subject to periodic reform. Throughout these changes, Yorkshire has continued to be recognised as a geographical territory and cultural region. The name is familiar and well understood across the United Kingdom and is in common use in the media and the military, and also features in the titles of current areas of civil administration such as North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and East Riding of Yorkshire.

Went to see the Seals at Ravenscar. Lots of pups and adult seals. Went at low tide so great views. Steep walk to the rocky beach. Sturdy shoes needed. There is a bus from Scarborough. Really lovely.

The cow shed is a lovely ( posh upmarket ) little cafe with a very good chef delivering delicious food with friendly staff , its a very safe place during this pandemic as they are taking every precaution on our behalf. Yes the food is expensive compared to other cheap and cheerful seaside cafes , but this one isn’t serving you cheap rubbish!!! you get high end restaurant quality food in a lovely stylish environment, so the food and venue is well worth the extra cost . If you want tea in a crappy mug and a burger with no meat in it try somewhere else .

Great beach stretching for miles, flat hard sand makes it great for games and playing, colourful beach huts line the prominard and the life guard station well manned with good guidance given to surfers and bathers alike. Lots of space for social distancing during COVID 19

A good walk from the scarborough spa, where they had a band playing, walk along the sea front, with plenty to see n do, the harbour is a good place to sit n watch too, the stroll to the North bay is a nice walk, with the castle ruins above you and sea to watch the dolphins playing, we were lucky enough to spot dolphins a few times, we went to visit Peasholm park, which I know from when I was a child and we used to holiday in Scarborough, many moons ago...the sea life centre is at the far point in the North Bay.... we were lucky with the weather and was able to enjoy the view in the sunshine....
