The land of the midnight sun awaits on the northern shores of Great Slave Lake in Yellowknife, a small but diverse city famous for its spectacular wilderness. Sitting on the edge of the Arctic Circle, the city enjoys summer days with nearly 24 hours of sunlight, and dark winter skies lit up by aurora borealis. Once a gold rush town and now a diamond mining town, Yellowknife is the hub of northern activities, ranging from dog sledding and cross-country skiing to backpacking and birding.

I'm relatively new to quilting, but decided to stop in during my visit to Yellowknife to pick up a souvenir. The staff is super friendly and showed me around the store, including their special Canada / Northern Lights fabrics. They seemed to have everything you could need as a quilter! I picked up some fat quarters and a pair of pillowcase kits that will help us remember our trip.

My daughter and I booked a really great staycation workshop and found it to be fun, and informative. Also reasonably priced considering it's about 2 hours and you get a mug or glass which would be $30 anyplace else anyways. The owner, Matthew was fun and catered the workshop to my able 12yr old. A little history of Old town Yellowknife was thrown in for fun. Making it better could be to offer something with the use of one's newly crafted glass---like a coffee in your new mug or whatever. But otherwise---it was a blast and well worth the small expense of take part. And a super friendly thing to do which hasn't changed much since COVID--a rare thing to see these days. I hope these covid restrictions in the NWT are put to bed soon.

Very friendly and helpful staff and a great store to find your souvenir. Went there twice during our four days stay in Yellowknife since it was the best store of this kind in town

We feature and sell a variety of loose diamonds — mined, cut, and polished in the Northwest Territories — and jewellery pieces too! Enjoy an interactive tour every weekday at 1:30pm that takes you on a journey through the vast history of diamond mining in the Canadian North.
They show good film about NWT diamonds were found and mined. A tour guide then gave us further information via photos and artifacts in the store. Worth a stop to learn how diamonds are extracted and polished.
