The museum, owned by the Regional Water Corporation is set in a buildings of the former Kolahdooz Mansion, built in 1888, and a truly beautiful building. There is everything here you need to know about the old water management system of Iran, which is still functioning today. Markar museum is located in a building dating back to more than eighty years ago with a magnificent and unparalleled architecture. The brick-made building was used as the dormitory for the students of Markar boarding school.
We visited the museum during our stay in Yazd in January 2020. A great introduction to zoroastrianism! The guide Rostam was very knowledgeable and told us many interesting stories about zoroastrian traditions in perfect English.
