Today the walls of the Ming dynasty and the Tang palace walls hint at the Xi’an’s glorious past. Stare in awe at the Terracotta Army, 7,000 terracotta statues of Qin Bingmayong Bowuguan warriors and soldiers. Dating from 210 BCE, they were discovered in 1974 and are still being excavated. Don't miss the Shaanxi History Museum or a chance to heat up at former imperial bathing spot, Huaqing Hot Springs.

Built in 1384, this imposing tower was rebuilt after the 1949 Communist revolution.
The Drum Tower is located in downtown Xi’an. The place is well maintained so it is quite hard to believe that the place dates back to more than 600 years ago. Entry for adults is at 30 RMB. Featured are 4 larger drums and 24 red drums each engraved with one of the 24 solar terms. You will get a good view of downtown Xi’an from the tower, including the Bell Tower as well as Muslim Quarter.

The Bell Tower Square marks the geographical center of the ancient capital. From this important landmark extend East, South, West and North Streets, connecting the Tower to the East, South, West and North Gates of the City Wall of the Ming Dynasty.
I wish we could have spent more time here. As it was, we drove by slowly on our night bus tour of Xi’an. The tower is so beautifully lit up at night, and I highly recommend that you visit (at night).

We went to enjoy the scenery of the park and the temple and pagoda grounds as we had just finished visiting the Xian Museum. All of these is located conveniently next to each other. We came to enjoy the scenery and it did not disappoint, very calming and relaxing place to go to. I would on a normal day come here to read a book. Great integration of these areas together, ancient and new. We entered through Xian Museum, tickets are free and limited to 3000 pax per day, you need to show your passport when you claim the ticket. Did not go up the Pagoda but was really soaking and enjoying the scenery. A good place to spend your time if you are not in a hurry and have visited all the other must go to places in Xian, for a change.
