Just as Colonial Williamsburg brings America’s revolutionary history to life, The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club honors the classic traditions of the game—while still creating an entertaining challenge for today’s player. Designed by the father-and-son team of Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Rees Jones, experience 45 walkable holes over three courses, surrounded by mature woodlands and free from neighboring real estate. Get in touch with nature, focus on your game, and get back to the true essence of golf in historic Colonial Williamsburg. Toast to a day spent on the course at one of several on-site restaurants. Take a short stroll and find yourself in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg. From dining and hotel options, to spa services and living history exhibits, it’s easy to turn a golf getaway into an incredible vacation experience that will keep you coming back year after year.
Played the Reese Jones Golden Horseshoe GC Gold course last month. Had a great time with friends on the well maintained course right in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg. Like most Williamsburg courses this one does not leave anything on the table for any level of player. The elevation changes were fun, most of the time. Hole 18 into Clubhouse has a great view.

I really like Colonial Heritage GC. I think it’s one of the top 3 conditioned courses in Williamsburg and a must play when visiting. The course is very elevated with carries over waste areas. A few pro level holes I find really challenging. On the front the blind up hill then downhill hole 4, followed by its signature extreme uphill hole 5 can be score busters. The back meanders through GC homes and woods with my favorite two holes coming in, holes 17 and 18. Carry an extra sleeve of balls.

Very friendly staff and the starter runs a tight ship. Even though it was busy, our wait for the group ahead was minimal. Very well maintained course with enough challenges to keep it interesting. More so on the back nine. A limited menu and hours in the restaurant (probably due to Covid), food was average but the waitress was wonderful. We look forward to returning in the fall.
