Great location, amazingly good shows by a professional summer troupe....only open for the summer season but it's generally packed for the 3-5 plays that they put on every year. Well worth a visit. They have a dinner theatre option which is very good and very, very limited.

What a perfect afternoon - and this was not the first show we've seen here. Even for non-theater goers...this place is just fun! They do wonderful shows with talented actors, great sets and costumes...a beautiful theater inside...and now they have an amphitheater outside. We've seen shows that make us think and feel, we've seen hysterical comedies that we just laugh our way through, and big fabulous musicals that have us tapping our feet! This place is just wonderful...for everybody.

Year round music, theater, dance, comedy, poetry and lecture series. Performances include world renowned guest artists as well as those by faculty and students. Visit our website for complete calendar.
This venue is excellent. Everyone who attends an event will enjoy this venue, the sight lines are perfect, every seat is great, no one is crowded, plenty of room, not too big, not too small, great performances. Everyone always is having a great time when I have attended performances. Whenever I go I leave in a better mood because of the performances, the atmosphere, the venue. Plymouth State University created a superb performance venue. Go, find out for yourself. This is definitely a great place in Plymouth.

The Flying Monkey is a Main Street theater revived by The Common Man family in NH, featuring a 450 seat intimate venue for live concerts, comdey shows, theatrical productions and films. In the Spring 2011, The Monkey will add a cinema downstairs for first-run and classic films.
We have viewed many shows at the Flying Monkey. Most recently we attended the presentation by Recycled Percussion. We almost always have dinner at the show. The venue is small and intimate. The acoustics are very good. The quality of the shows are good to excellent. One very nice quality is that the general manager, prior to the start of each show, walks through the audience and introduces himself. The shows are almost always sold out which adds to the overall appeal of the venue. We strongly recommend viewing live entertainment at the flying monkey.

This theater is fun with its old time charm. It still has the original seats in the main movie theater. The staff was very friendly. Making our visit even better. The movie played without interruption. And you can't beat the $5 price for matinees.
