Bird lovers flock (yes I had to????) to this Ontario fav ????! A popular stopover for both waterfowl & shorebirds and home to local nesting birds, Lynde Shore Conservation area is a truly unique experience for outdoor & nature lovers alike! Heber Down Conservation Area

Beautiful place. Has great trails. It's almost magical in the winter, the way the sun shines through the trees in the late afternoon. Although it's not quite as remote as it once was, the campground is long since gone and will someday in the not too distant future be completely surrounded by the urban sprawl. As a result It's getting harder to find the personal serenity there. Enjoy it while you still can. Also keep an eye out for coyotes, although they have never shown to be aggressive, they are there and I can personally attest to seeing them in the area on more than one occasion, including on my last visit.

Intrepid Park

Located near Ice Sports, and Hero's Army Surplus, this was once a spy camp during WWII, and the early cold war. The dude who wrote all the James Bond novels worked here for a while! There are several flags and plaques, parking is possible nearby, and the Water Front Trail runs beside it. There are no latrines on site, nor is there Wi-Fi. There is however a Pokemon gym!
