Wheeling is a city in Ohio and Marshall counties in the U.S. state of West Virginia. Located almost entirely in Ohio County, of which it is the county seat, it lies along the Ohio River in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Wheeling was originally a settlement in the British colony of Virginia and later an important city in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Wheeling was the first state capital of West Virginia. Due to its location along major transportation routes, including the Ohio River, National Road, and the B&O Railroad, Wheeling became a manufacturing center in the late nineteenth century. After experiencing the closing of factories and substantial population loss following World War II, Wheeling's major industries now include healthcare, education, law and legal services, entertainment and tourism, and energy.

Home to 50 species of animals, 20 of which are rare or endangered, the Good Zoo is the only institution in the state of West Virginia accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
This is a small zoo and the main building is worth the price of admission for the red pandas, prairie dogs, lemurs, tarapins, sloth, crazy fast armadillo and the creepy cute naked mole rats. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It's a pretty place to walk around and see animals. Very well kept. We went back at night and enjoyed the laser light show to music for the holidays.

Four guys and 54 holes of golf in two days. The cabin was very nice and roomy with a living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, and bath. Local white tails will eat right out of your hand. We arrived and went right to the Palmer course. The staff was great from the guy who put our clubs in the cart, the ProShop staff, and the chatty starter who gave us advice about the roll of the terrain. Had a great round. Some of the guys said it was the nicest course they ever played. Checked in to the Lodge and headed for our cabin. It was GREAT! A couple of us went up to the Lodge to partake of the hot tub, indoor pool, and sauna. They have a nice game room and space to just relax and read in big comfy chairs. Back to the cabin where we cooked our own dinner in the excellently outfitted kitchen. Played poker until o'late thirty then got in bed. They smelled nice, were very comfortable, and I was out in no time. Up early the next morning. Everyone did their 3 S and then it was off to the lodge for the included breakfast buffet. Fantastic. Omlets/eggs to order, Belgian waffles, bacon, homefries, bacon, sausage, coffee, bacon, juices, milk, crepes, bacon. All you could ever want. Now off to the second course, the Jones. Same as the day before, all of the staff were helpful and chatty. They seemed like they really cared that you had a good round. They even got us out early. The course was even better than the Palmer course. We had a great round. Stop for a quick lunch at the BBQ joint and then off to the Crispin. Our package included free green fees, just pay a $15 per man cart fee. This course was pretty difficult and not in nearly the condition of the other two but we had a fun round. We left for home satisfied and all agreeing to make the trip again in the spring for TWO days.
