The Link Light Rail

Reviewed By 812dianad - Pasadena, United States

We have visited several major cities in the US and try to use public transit when available. This was the best we have encountered. Easy to understand, access, and very inexpensive to use. It’s also clean and was within 2-3 blocks of everything we were interested in seeing.

Amtrak Cascades

Reviewed By step12dude - Las Vegas, United States

Traveled from Seattle - King Street Station to Albany, Oregon, on this train for the first time and had a surprisingly enjoyable experience. The train ran on schedule and arrived into Albany within 5-6 minutes of its scheduled arrival time. Coaches were clean, in good repair, with comfortable seating. The current limits on passenger counts on Amtrak trains made for an uncrowded experience, even though the train was said to have been booked full. Amtrak personnel were pleasant, efficient, and helpful. The ride was surprisingly smooth - particularly compared to the rough rides experienced in the northeast corridor of the country. There was no club car (food) service on the train, but Amtrak did provide complementary bottles of water and small snack packs - self serve. The restroom on the train was very clean, by railroad standards, and not one to be avoided at all costs. The ticket price was a bargain for the distance and style of travel. I would definitely take this train again - and probably will.
