Stretching 160 miles through Utah, the Wasatch Range makes a rugged, glacial backdrop for the 85% of the states population living within 15 miles. Mount Nebo is highest at 11,928 feet, but the peaks around Alta and Park City are most popular. "The greatest snow on earth" falls on these spectacular slopes. Lone Peaks granite outcrops provide top climbing. Canyons and valleys are loved by fly-fishermen and hikers. After all that adventure, retire to a hip restaurant or enticing hot tub in chic Park City.

On a recent trip to Salt Lake City to see my son, his wife, and my new granddaughter I took the family to see Real Salt Lake play the Seattle Sounders at Rio Tinto Stadium. This is a wonderful stadium but appears to have been built specifically around football (soccer). It is very nicely laid out and very easy to navigate.

I called the number on the Grizzly site, Adam was so nice and helpful, he picked out seats for us which were terrific and explained a lot to us ahead of time, he left out the $8 parking fee though. Ask about any specials because they probably have some. Our first time to a hockey game and it was a blast. We got there at 6 - game started at 7 right on time. It wasn't to crowded which was nice, lots of locals that gave it a really fun and exciting atmosphere. Fun things happened between rounds we participated in the puck chuck which was fun. Easy to find the Maverick Center. Parking was $8.00 for the Center's own parking lot, I just don't think that's right and to us $8 was a little pricey but that would go along with food and beverage prices too - way to high. A little confusing when you walk in because we had to pick up tickets at will call then go back to the door where ladies were just roaming around to try and scan everyone's ticket and trying to monitor the elevators so no one could go up to early. We only found that out after going to get on the elevator.

The level of excitement and energy in the stadium makes it a fun time. There are 2 great replay screens, one for each end zone. There are a lot of food choices, some of them are healthy. You can bring in an empty water bottle to refill so you don't have to get in line just to buy water. People are friendly and considerate. Parking is like most football stadiums and you have to walk a bit if you are not a member of the Cougar Club. Most of the lots are for members. There is quite a bit of handicapped seating and the women's restrooms are large on the two sides. Tickets are kind of expensive, but check the resale sites to hopefully spend less.
