Gower Peninsula

It's the closest thing to Heaven most of us will ever get - spectacular beaches, two stunning ridge walks, along Rhossili Down, the other on Cefn Bryn, woodland, streams, 3 microbreweries, fantastic bars and restaurants, and did I mention the beaches - Three Cliffs is like nowhere else in the world. Everywhere there are views that will leave you speechless. I', a lucky bastard - I live here.

Worm's Head

Reviewed By Deb12_8 - Grimsby, United Kingdom

Make sure you check the tide times and go 2 hours before low tide to give yourself plenty of time to sit and enjoy the views (there’s a 2 hour window either side of low tide because the causeway is tidal). This is quite a challenging walk over volcanic rock and diagonal rock shards that look a bit like Superman’s planet Krypton and more importantly hurt the soles of your feet,! Make sure you wear sensible shoes (walking shoes/boots really) - I saw two lads trying to do it in flip flops- not a chance! We did it on a hot day and went right to the end - it’s a little harder going out than coming back. Allow yourself at least 2 hours - more if you want to climb the top of each ridge. Take plenty of fluids and a lunch to stop and appreciate the views and if you’re lucky spot some seals basking on the rocks.

Little Orme

Reviewed By malgibbs1 - Bath, United Kingdom

Lovely walk around and up Little Orme Head. It is a strenuous walk with some steep inclines if walking from Llandudno side (main road opposite Premier Inn) to Angel Bay and then back via the summit(s) up onto the top. Well worth it for lovely views of seals in Angel Bay, not yet on the beach in early September, and all the panoramic views from the cliffs and summits. Quite busy in lovely weather with much easier access from Rhos side. Unfortunately selfish and thoughtless person using drone caused unnecessary noise and disturbance, let’s hope the wretched things are banned from peaceful and sensitive wildlife areas.

Craig y Ddinas

Reviewed By Valleygirl3 - Abertillery, United Kingdom

We had friends visiting, one of whom loves waterfalls, so as a team of four we took them on the four waterfalls route, it was raining & had been for a few days so the flow was fast and rivers full, which was probably the best time to view as not only beautiful but also less crowds. You really do need sensible footwear, I cannot express how many people we passed wearing good trainers, even a lady in sandals with side holes in, all squelching around, looking miserable as they had wet dirty feet. its muddy if it’s been raining and you will come across small streams & big muddy puddles in the trail so be prepared and it makes it even more enjoyable. We took just over 3 hours to complete the whole route & wasn’t pushing it & taking in plenty of picture opportunities. There are lots of steps, the routes are clearly marked and mapped well, liked the railway sleepers used on the boggy bits, makes access so much better & cleaner! We were all blown away by the beauty of all waterfalls and surrounding areas. I especially was in awe of the tree roots in the area really detailed. Thoroughly enjoyed by all & would return again. Doesn’t cost anything to visit the waterfalls apart from a £4 car park fee. Founded it easy to park.
