Huge bridge into Halong Bay with amazing views of the limestone karsts in the distance. I was reading that the bridge is one of 5 in the world of its kind. Very impressive and the views were just breathtaking.

Beautiful spot across the river, which always seems to busy, both night and day. In the dark it is stunning with all of the lights from lanterns on the boat.

A local favorite, construction on this covered bridge began in the Year of the Monkey (1593) and was finished in the Year of the Dog (1595), hence the monkey and dog sculptures at either end.

If you only see it during the day...you will wonder what is so special about it. The history is very interesting as others have pointed out. But...be sure to see it lit up at night as the colors change along the spans and you will find yourself watching the bridge for a long time! At least I did! Magical!

The Long Bien bridge across the Red River connects Hanoi with the main port of Haiphong. Designed by Gustave Eiffel, the bridge sustained significant damage during the Vietnam War. Only half of the bridge retains its original shape, but a rebuilding project supported by the French government is currently in progress to restore the bridge to its original appearance.
Well worth the walk over this historic bridge designed by famous French architect who built Eiffel Tower . Amazing watching everyone commuting on their bikes . Great views . Deffinately a must do
