Second time to AO, and just as impressed. What a great event in a great city. The free tram in the city centre, the extra trams to ensure visitors can get to/from the venue makes it easy. Add in the extras that Melbourne brings - when we were there it was a One Day International in cricket between Aussie and India at the MCG - so cool! Then a football game (soccer to Aussies) between Melbourne Victory and Wellington Phoenix at AAMI. So AO, MCG and AAMI all within same park.....way to go Melbourne. Huge selection of restaurants of all price points and types - we enjoyed Vietnamese, Indian and Italian, plus snacks from all around the world. Great one week destination for a big event. Venture out to Yarra Valley or Mornington for food, fruit, wine, chocolate etc.....

Long before you arrive, the distant sound of engines screaming will entice you into this iconic Australian event. Be prepared for lots of noise, action, and Australian’s being, well, Australian! This weekend in March brings all of the excitement you would expect when you mix Aussies, fast cars, and abundantly flowing beer. Opt for a luxury VIP experience, or hit the grandstands for a truly authentic experience. While you are there, take the energy of the day into the night and hit up one of the after-parties to enjoy the unique flavor that Melbourne has to offer.
The Australian Grand Prix is usually held in March, making it the first Grand Prix of the season. This year, it will probably be held in November 2021. As last year's Grand Prix was cancelled, let's hope that the corona virus situation is under control by November. It's understood that the teams are seeking clarification of scheduling.
