Whether you’re exploring Vermont’s covered bridges, visiting Quechee Gorge or skiing at Killington, you’ll find Vermont to be picture-perfect. If you’re the outdoorsy type, you’ll love Vermont. In winter, of course, there’s plenty of skiing and snowboarding. In the warmer months, however, Vermont offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing and boating. If you enjoy boating, swimming and fishing, a vacation rental on Lake Champlain might be perfect for you.

We were in VT to baby sit for our grandson as his parents had to return to work post-Covid-19. We were looking something to do with a 9 month old while maintaining social distancing. The Museum turned out to be the perfect choice. There are a lot of hands on activities for all age groups. We are in our 50's and found several of the exhibits interesting. We were extremely impressed by the museum staffs ability to clean and sanitize each activity before and after we used them. We felt extremely safe during our entire visit. We were so impressed that we purchased a season pass for our grandson and his parents. For future visits during the pandemic and I am sure we will be renewing for years in the future.

So much to see an do. We visited on a rainy day, and spent about an hour inside looking at the carved birds of Vermont and watching the live birds outside at the many bird feeders. Then, we hiked up and back down the mountain. There is a treehouse from which you can view more wildlife. We saw a white-tailed deer on our walk, and there were also chipmunks at the birdfeeders.

Too cold for the raptors to fly and coming all the way from Maine anxious to see these magnificent birds, I was welcomed to still meet Horus the Falcon, Newton the Hawk and beautiful owl Alba. I thank the New England Falconry and Jessica for their hospitality and taking time with me sharing fascinating facts about these glorious birds. I would highly recommend a visit. I am anxious to visit when the weather breaks in the spring! Thank you Jessica!

Bring your camera. Listen closely and absorb nature. There are many birds and plant species. The lovely boardwalk at station 3 puts you in the center of the marsh. We saw mallards, thrushes, rushes, cattails, and stunning fall color vistas.

We happened upon this by accident and are happy we did. Between September and December you can drive to the boat launch. Beautiful walk along the river. Plenty of parking and portapotties down the path. Great way to spend a few hours enjoying nature.
