You’ll find plenty of orange trees here, but the fruit known as the "Valencia orange" was actually developed in California. Travelers interested in local food should focus on paella instead. While the city contains many monuments, Valencia’s modern crown jewel is the City of Arts and Sciences, a futuristic complex of museums, cinemas, theaters, and more.

We were greeted at the airport, with a friendly handshake. No problem finding driver, he had sign with name to make easy to find. The trip to apartment was quick and driver knew exactly were to go. On return trip to airport, driver was waiting for us when we came from our apartment. He was friendly as well and got us to the airport in no time, even with morning traffic.

I second the reviewer before me who said that the station is rivalled by Porto for its beauty - it certainly is, especially at night when it's lit up. Its beautiful though at any time with its wonderful windows and floodlit entrance hall.

We bought a 72 hour Metro card at the airport which cost €25. We travelled from Valencia airport to Xàtiva and you can buy cards if I recall for 12 and 24 hours also. The card enables you to use the Metro and buses. You could also use the card to receive discounts on attractions and restaurants too. I’m unsure exactly where you can use the card for these discounts but you get the details when you buy the card. If you fancy travelling out towards the marina/port, there is a train that travels there with one change over. It’s partly underground and outside so you get to see some of the local areas too. It’s so easy to use and the lines are numbered and colour coded for ease of navigation. We travelled to a number of different stations and every train was on time, clean and tidy with plenty of seating. The trains run very regularly and we didn’t have to wait any more than 20 minutes between trains. If you want to get somewhere quickly it’s the perfect way to travel and I would definitely recommend using this from the airport as a taxi cost us €30 one way so the Metro card is great value for money.
