Utsunomiya (宇都宮市, Utsunomiya-shi, Japanese: [ɯᵝt͡sɯ̃ᵝno̞mija̠]) is the capital and largest city of Tochigi Prefecture, in the northern Kantō region of Japan. As of May 2015, the city had an estimated population of 518,200, and a population density of 1,240 persons per square kilometre (3,200/sq mi). Its total area is 416.85 km (160.95 sq mi). Utsunomiya is famous for its gyoza (pan fried dumplings). There are more than two hundred gyoza restaurants in Utsunomiya.

Before you sink your teeth into the juicy dumplings, travel to the countryside in Utsunomiya to the Robert Trent Jones designed course Eastwood Country Club (Utsunomiya, Japan) and test your skills with around the fairways and greens! Located about 1 1/2 hour north of Tokyo. A beautiful layout golf course with some difficult greens (depending where the pins are located) and a gorgeous clubhouse! This was the first time I’d played in the Jarman Charity Monthly Tournament! It was a great way to meet other golfers within the country of Japan from around the world! It does not matter if you are a beginner or a scratch golfer, anyone is welcome to come out and play with the group! If you decide to play Eastwood Country Club, mention you will play with Jarman Cup and you will get a greens fee discount, a chance to enter the competition, and a lunch at the turn (between both 9s). Playing with Jarman you can compete for a trophy cup and 100,000 JPY ($1000) every month. Birdies, Pars, Bogies, or just out for the experience to play golf in Japan this is a great venue to test the links in Japan! Oh yeah...before you leave the city of Utsunomiya!!!!
