Ushguli (Georgian: უშგული) is a community of four villages located at the head of the Enguri gorge in Svaneti, Georgia. Recognized as the Upper Svaneti UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ushguli is one of the highest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe. Compared to somewhat more developed towns like Mestia, Ushguli has been "saved" by its particularly inaccessible location, which helped preserve the villages' timeless feel.

TrekGeorgia customized three sightseeing days for our three generations of family (including a 4- and 6-year-old) built around a few days at two different resorts. Leaving from Tbilisi, we went into the wine region, framed by the beautiful Caucasus Mountains. It was a perfect combination of fun (winery, horseback riding, climbing towers, easy hikes), culture (monasteries, museum), and spectacular scenery – all this amid the pandemic. Dimitri, our guide and driver, couldn't have given us a better experience. He was knowledgeable, patient and solicitous with the kids, and super dependable. We really enjoyed his company! It was our second visit to Georgia and we feel very comfortable and safe there. The people we met were friendly and welcoming. We are sure to return and would definitely consider arranging other tours with TrekGeorgia. Thank you, Dimitri and Nutsa (our guide on the previous visit)!

Svaneti’s emblem is the koshki (defensive stone tower), designed to house villagers at times of invasion and local strife (until recently Svaneti was renowned for its murderous blood feuds). Visiting the old town of Mestia and the towers was the highlight of our trip. The accommodation at Mestia included in the trip was very comfortable and well located. The drive to Svaneti was spectacular. We had total confidence in our driver Lashi on winding torturous route. He was also very attentive to our needs and happy to accommodate anything we wished to see. The boat trip was picturesque and a nice break from a long day’s drive. The wine tasting was disappointing with only one glass of wine offered. Overall a good trip and great to see the Svaneti region.

Would 100% recommend. From start to finish our trip was well organised, perfectly paced, exciting and adapted to suit our needs to ensure we could fit in everything that we wanted to. Our tour guide Irakli (sorry if I spelt it wrong) was extremely knowledgeable and we had such a fun time with him. Georgia is absolutely beautiful and this tour company contributed to us having one of the best holidays I've ever been on!

I have never been to a place this magnificent, the beauty of the sceneries was overwhelming. I am so grateful for FixTravel for organizing an amazing day tour trip for me, they provided a private tour guide Mari. The whole plan they had for me was very well organized and filled with amazing spots. Mari was very knowledgebale and professional, she told the history of every place we visited in a very interesting way that keeps you wanting to listen and know more. Please book here. They have good rates and excellent guide ( Nino ). We went away for a whole day and saw cave houses in the SE. If you want to learn and hear more about the country, this is your chance. Very affordable and they do pick ups at your hotel, hostel or B&B.
