Upper Austria (German: Oberösterreich, pronounced [ˈoːbɐˌʔøːstɐʀaɪ̯ç] ( listen); Austro-Bavarian: Obaöstarreich; Czech: Horní Rakousy) is one of the nine states or Bundesländer of Austria. This is a very poignant reminder of the atrocities that were committed and why we must ensure nothing of this kind ever happens again. The atmosphere is very somber and the exhibits can be overwhelming. Take your time and please be respectful, people died here. I don’t think you can fully appreciate a place like this until you have been here. I personally think you need to explore this at your own pace with the audio guide as opposed to a guided tour, so you can choose what you do and don’t want to see.
