Linking Michigan's two peninsulas, this mighty bridge has a total length of five miles.
We went over the bridge once in the evening and then in the afternoon a few days later. The bridge towers high above the straits separating Lake Michigan from Lake Huron, and is several miles long. There are viewpoints along the shoreline at either end of the bridge. We stopped at on on the St Ignace side at a gift shop with a viewing platform. The speed limit on the bridge is 25 mph, so there is plenty of time to enjoy the view while driving over. The toll is $4 each way for a passenger car. There are two lanes in each direction with the center lanes made of steel grating which makes a humming sound as you drive. The outer lanes are paved. At night the bridge is lit with lights, for a good evening view. With its tall support towers and long suspension span (longest in North America) the bridge is an engineering marvel that connects the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan.

Opened in 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge provides passage between Brooklyn and Manhattan for motorists, trains, bicycles and pedestrians. One of the primary symbols of New York City, it is a marvel of design and provides spectacular views of the city's skyline.
Great walk across the epic/iconic bridge great views of the sky line also Ellis island n Statue of Liberty about 30 minute walk each way dress warmly as the wind can be very “biting”

The original bridge from England was purchased by the founder of Lake Havasu City and reconstructed at Lake Havasu in 1971.
Those granite blocks have an amazing story to tell! The tour boat operators provide great information as to why, how and when the bridge came to Lake Havasu, and the museum's display rounds out the story. The visitor's center also has great information too. The excellent walking paths along the channel offer great views from both sides, and of course you can walk and drive over it too. To say Mr. McCullough and his team had a great idea would be an understatement. The only downside in the area is that the shops in the English Village are suffering economic woes and need some sprucing up.

Stretching 4,200 feet and towering as high as a 65-story building, this well-known bridge is the gateway to San Francisco.
Crossed this iconic bridge and wish I had time to walk or bike over it, simply put it an amazing bit of history and is phenomenal engineering. Lives up to all photos I've seen, if time and health allow I'd get out of car and experience it!

Originally constructed in 1905 as an aerial lift, this unusual elevator bridge is 386 feet long and spans the canal entrance to Duluth Harbor.
We stayed by the iconic Duluth Aerial Bridge and enjoyed seeing it in operation, fun to watch as the big freighters head in and out of the Duluth area. If you are in Duluth, definitely make time to check this out especially if you enjoy seeing the big freighters.

One of the more beautiful bridges in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Its truly an incredible view from here. The whole blue ridge parkway is pretty much scenic view, here you can stop at the Linn Cove Viaduct visitor center and from there you can take a good hike - just follow the trail.

One of the finest examples of the Phoenix wrought-iron truss bridges that were build between 1884 and 1923.
Walking across the Walnut Street Bridge is a must-do if you’re in Chattanooga! (Or bike ride across). The scenery is beautiful day or night. Plenty of room to bring kids, dogs, strollers, your own chair/there are benches to sit already. Great place for photos. Great place to watch the various activities of Chattanooga such as fireworks, arrival of Santa the day after Thanksgiving, pops in the park music. We always feel safe. And no matter which side you start from, you are rewarded with something exciting on the other side! ...downtown Chattanooga, the Riverwalk, the Hunter museum and Art Distric or the North Shore with Coolidge Park, the various quirky shops and restaurants. I love that bridge and you will too...many fun memories to be made there!

I drove on, and then walked, the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge!! What a marvel of engineering and what a thrilling experience it was to go over it! The views from the bridge were a nice reward that you can only experience if you walk on it! There is a rest stop on the west side of the bridge, the side further away from Taos, where you can park, use the restrooms, take pictures from this location, hike a little further along the top of the canyon, and buy souvenirs from the local vendors. Was a really rewarding and free experience!!

We stayed on the Kentucky side at the Embassy Suites. The 6th floor had an amazing view of the bridge. The amount of rain has made the water high and incredibly brown... but still incredible. This bridge was the inspiration for the Brooklyn Bridge, so if you haven’t been to NY- this is a little taste of the BB! The pedestrian walkway is very nice, and completely filled... meaning it does not have grates (for those who are afraid of walking over water!). Currently, the bridge is shut down for traffic due to some limestone falling off one of the towers and one of the pedestrian sides is closed. So be on the lookout for orange cones and signs. The bridge boasts amazing views of Cincinnati and is beautiful at night. The bridge will pop you out between the football and baseball stadium and directly in front of the Ferris wheel. (Check Groupon for a Ferris Wheel deal!) Also at the end of the bridge is a beautiful park and two splash pads for the kids! It’s truly beautiful.
