Nomadic tribal heritage and modern society co-exist in the UAE, a federation of seven emirates at the southeastern edge of the Arabian Peninsula. Look beyond the desert that consumes four-fifths of its area and you'll find UAE capital Abu Dhabi, an oil-rich city of skyscrapers, parks and malls, and Dubai, with its split personality of luxury resorts and covered marketplaces, upscale boutiques and local artisans. For a break from urban sprawl, journey over rolling red sand dunes into the Hatta Mountains, where the 200-year-old Sharia Mosque sits amid 30 restored buildings of sandalwood and mud.

This market is in Abu Dhabi. One can see wholesale fruits, dry fruits and vegetables sold here. Ahead in a separate shelter there is halal meat sold. Royal Dates is one of the shops not to be missed here. There are different kinds of dates-14 different varieties including date chocolates and pistachio date chocolate which is just yummy. Arabian Tours will take you here but if not try and visit here for a quick view on what life can be of a trader of fruits and vegetables.

Shopping at Traditional Souks, such as Dubai Spice Souks, exposes travelers to Arab style marketplaces where goods are bought and sold. Bargaining allows you to acquire different commodities, such as spice, gold, textiles and perfumes.
Traditional Arab market place, with lots of little side alleys and colourful shops and even more colourful vendors. If you love haggling prices you will have a lot of fun here, but remember don't pick it up if you don't intend to buy it. Vendors can at times be a bit overly enthusiastic, but you can feel quite safe, despite the hustle and bustle. One small word of warning, if you suffer from Hay Fever or Asthma, be aware that the air is fairly thick in parts of the market with incense and strong spice fragrances. Don't be fooled by the name, you can buy just about anything here.
