Although Tucson's fantastic weather, national parks and forests and desert provide the perfect environment for tons of outdoor recreational activities, this city of half a million people also has its share of history and culture. With a history that goes back much further than many of its southwestern neighbors, Tucson boasts turn-of-the-century architecture, historic neighborhoods, museums and the Mission San Xavier del Bac, a still-functioning 18th-century mission considered one of the most beautiful in the U.S. Mexican and Native American influences are pervasive, and the city has a distinctly Western flavor. There's also a college-town atmosphere, thanks to the University of Arizona, which has its own share of museums and a science center. Whether golfing at a world-class golf resort, horseback riding, hiking in the wilderness, discovering desert flora and fauna at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum or exploring pre-Columbian and other art at the Tucson Art Museum, you'll have a mind-boggling array of things to do.

We became Tucson locals seven years ago, having been accustomed to large city challenges for access to cultural venues. Fortunately, we didn't wait too long to explore an event at the Fox and discovered how easy and wonderful it is to engage in events at the Fox. Parking is plentiful, affordable and within an easy walk - particularly in pleasant Tucson weather. There are many really good restaurants downtown, so it makes for a great evening with a loved one! The facility itself is well preserved and operated with loving care by a great staff. Seats are comfortable and viewing is great as there are no bad seats in the house. We're now back several times each year and thoroughly enjoy each visit!

Voted BEST OF TUCSON every year since 2002 by readers of the Tucson Weekly, The Loft Cinema is a mission-driven, membership-supported nonprofit cinema that screens new independent American and foreign films and documentaries, along with classic art films, interactive events including a monthly short film contest, sing-a-longs and cult favorites. Patrons can enjoy beer, wine, pizza, tamales along with fantastic films. The main theatre seats 500 people and boasts the largest screen in Southern Arizona. In addition to our regular programming, The Loft hosts an annual international film festival in the fall and a free children's film festival every July. The Loft is a member of the Sundance Institute's Art House Project, based on our excellence of programming and service to the community. In 2012 The Loft was selected to be an official venue of the Sundance Film Festival in their Sundance USA program and we have hosted a screening direct from Sundance with the filmmakers every year since. The Loft is one of 7 American cinemas to be a collaborating partner with Film Forward: Advancing Cultural Dialogue in 2012, an honor The Loft also enjoyed in 2011.
In the era of multiplexs the existence of a small, art film oriented movie house is a treat which deserves our support. On Speedway sort of near the university

Wow! A great place to dine or enjoy a beverage in the beautiful lobby or outside seating areas. The meals are delicious and superb in taste and flavor. Of course, the best part was to view a film while dining at your recliner style seat. The leg section extends for comfort. The staff is extremely professional and friendly in service and a pleasure to engage in chatting. Danny our server was fantastic once with rang the seat side button to order, she ensured meals and drinks were promptly delivered and cleaned up to avoid any unwanted accidents. Go and enjoy a day or evening out in a relaxing atmosphere. You will love it.
