Lovely viewpoint for the old town of Trier. It’s a good 25 min hike but energising! I recommend taking water with you - there is nothing by means of coffee shops on the way

The fountain is a tourist attraction at "Kornmarkt" surrounded by a small park with some benches under trees to take a rest. But nearby you also find some interesting restaurants and nice shops. When you enter the courtyard of the historical post office on the other side of the pedestrian area you find some hidden shops, restaurants and a city hotel and if you turn to the opposite side you can see the Roman Aula Palatina (Emperor`s Reception Hall). Walking the pedestrian area to the left you`ll reach the "Karl Marx Haus" and to the right you`ll come to the interesting Main Market.
