Famous for its native son, the astronomer Copernicus, Torun was founded by the Teutonic Knights in the 13th century. You can still see the ruins of their castle, left pretty much unchanged from when it was destroyed by disgruntled medieval townsfolk. Torun was one of the few Polish cities to escape major damage in World War II. Its beautifully preserved Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Don’t miss the striking Old Town Hall. We were a group of four. The tour was for approx. 7 hours in the car. They sent us a large enough car so it was very comforting. Our driver gave us pit stops on the way when we requested and our guid in Krakow gave us some stop at the cafe and souvenir shops for us so we had some free time and learned interesting historical facts about Krakow. Very interesting and comforting experience in total. Breakfast and dinner is not included so I recommend that we bring some snacks on the tour.

I used Thomas Travel and Vadim as my tour guide on a recent trip to Prague. I ended up booking 4 private trips with him around Czech Republic and Eastern Germany. There is so much to see! Cesky Krumlov is a real gem! I really enjoyed Vadim’s personal approach and encyclopaedic knowledge of the history. He also gave me lots of ideas of what little secret places to see in Prague itself. The car was very nice too. If you want to have an experienced and reliable tour guide in that region, look no further.
