Things to do in Toronto, Canada: The Best Spas & Wellness

January 28, 2022 Brain Ambrose

We've heard Toronto described as "New York City run by the Swiss," and it's true—you can find world-class theater, shopping and restaurants here, but the sidewalks are clean and the people are friendly. The best place to start is literally at the top—the CN Tower, the tallest freestanding structure in the Western Hemisphere.

Elmspa

Elmspa is a hidden gem in the heart of Church/Wellesley Village, offering an array of exclusive treatments for women and men. An offspring of the acclaimed Elmwood Spa, elmspa is easily accessible, situated just blocks away from Cabbagetown, Riverdale, Yorkville and Bloor Street in downtown Toronto.

My experience at Elmspa was incredible! I highly recommend this small spa on Church St, which is the sister location to the Elmwood Spa on Elm St. The staff were so warm, friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities were pristine! The decor is so calm, sophisticated but unpretentious. I enjoyed a 25 min infrared sauna before my Elmline Essential facial, which included a premium masque and eye treatment. Loved it and will absolutely be going back.

My husband and I had a great experience; from the front desk with Jackie to the jacuzzi, massage and soak (romance package). My massage was spot on with pressure, tension points and aches and pains as well as relaxation. (Not an RMT massage just a relaxation one). Would definitely recommend and consider coming back to next time we’re in the city!

Recently visited the reopened Nouvelle Maria Spa and Salon located just steps away from their old haunt , the King Edward Hotel. In a space smaller than the previous, Maria has recreated her signature european style wellness oasis . Nothing grand, simple sophistication and you are made to feel special from the moment you enter. My pedicure was excellent, performed expertly and with lasting effect. No more in -grown toenails and corns all gone ! And all this at a very reasonable rate . Can’t wait to go back !!

Drove a couple of hours into the city and this spa did not disappoint! The beautiful lounge area provided such a retreat feel I could have hung out there all day, next time I am going to bring a book and take advantage of the serenity. The pool and jacuzzi also provides a quiet area to lounge. I thoroughly enjoyed my pedicure and parafin treatment, Natasha has a super personality. My aunt had a facial with Robby and had the same great experience with her service. I cannot truly describe the peace I felt while I was there, for someone who has a great deal of difficulty slowing down, my mind actually settled. It was a great experience overall and I cannot wait to go back!
