Things to do in Toronto, Canada: The Best Nightlife

November 1, 2021 Timmy Ribble

We've heard Toronto described as "New York City run by the Swiss," and it's true—you can find world-class theater, shopping and restaurants here, but the sidewalks are clean and the people are friendly. The best place to start is literally at the top—the CN Tower, the tallest freestanding structure in the Western Hemisphere.

The Rock Pile Bar & Nightclub

Reviewed By parliamentgoldman

The emphasis on rock and roll is real, great place to find rocker friends. There are jam nights on regular Mondays. They have a house band that will play with you if you want them to do that. I like to observe the jam, though I don't know anybody until I come. Don't be too shy to come, even if you're young. It is legal for them to have minors so long as you're older than sixteen or if less than sixteen, accompanied with an adult. You won't be allowed to sit at a bar stool if you're less than nineteen, but there's plenty of restaurant seating and the stage is close to the audience, just hang around there. They're happy to have you enjoying the music, or even playing music if it's jam night. It's a very wide space, music is the main focus. They have lighting upgrades and refined audio. The staff rock and will befriend you without pretense. Sit in one of their classic captain chairs and eat poutine, veggie wraps or a burger, ect . Freely stroll the floor and admire the posters of events/free mug shot photobooth, or walk down a hallway they call, "Death Row" which is a one-of-a-kind museum to honor the bands and people who make up the RockPile's history. Oh, there's also a pure Heavy Metal Jam that's become routine. Certainly come out for the charity events they host throughout a year's time. They have a lot of all-ages stuff going on. They periodically collect for The Daily Bread Food Bank, Toys for Tots, and Warm Clothing for Toronto's Homeless.
